I remember that game like it was yesterday. I was working in Omaha at the time and had to work that Saturday. Nobody was actually working and the game was put on all the big screen tv's in the offices around the office. It was so fun being the lone Iowa State fan in the sea of Nebraska douchebags watching them blow that game.

For certain the best ISU road trip I have been apart of. Sat in the Nebraska student section with a friend who was a UNL student sporting my ISU gear. Things didn't get as rowdy as I expected but I definitely felt hostility as I was leaving. One of my top ISU memories!!

*** As a side note, the worst ISU road trip I was a part of was going to Manhattan, KS in 2013. What a ******* waste of time, the team was completely overmatched and looked like they wanted to get back to Ames ASAP.

Sadly this also reminds me of one of the biggest nut punches I've experienced as an ISU fan. The last time we ever (well for a long time I assume) play Nebraska, and the way we lost that game. ugh.

Still pathetic that we could only score 9 with that many turnovers. Hell that one in the 4th quarter we were on their 22 yard line. Pitiful.

That NU team had one of the best defensive front four that year. A boy named Suh I seem to recall spent as much time in the backfield as the ISU QB. I seem to remember another D tackle who was NFL bound was there also....that might have something to do with it.

Go here and see for yourself. PA is Points Allowed or how much the other teams scored. Check out their record as well (2009):

Suh blocked either an extra point AND a FG in that game if I remember correctly. He was literally unstoppable. I'm sure he was incredibly pissed at their offense after they lost that game.

Remember the Big 12 championship game that year? Texas threw it out of bounds at the end and it didn't hit the ground until the clock had expired but they gave Texas time back anyway so they could kick the game winning field goal. I remember being so pissed about that. I also seem to recall Suh being very very angry....

You probably need to re-watch the replay on YouTube. Such a stupid play by McCoy, but there was still a second left on the clock.

Hmmm, so there was... Instead of admitting that I was wrong, I would like to propose that I existed in a parallel universe where the clock hit 0 and later I was somehow transported to this universe...

Suh and Jared Crick. Both NFL players.

I was in a bar full of Husker fans when Texas kicked that field goal. Needless to say that was a beautiful experience watching their collective jaws drop when the kick went through the uprights.
There was a lot of anger in that bar.
