Late hit outta Bounds

About midway through the first Qtr, ISU is called for a late hit outta bounds on QB #7. At the time, I thought the Baylor player was in-bounds with his right foot when he was tackled in the air by Moya. When I watched this on replay, at the 8:00 minute game clock of the FS1 of the 2nd close up replay, I believe he was clearly in-bounds.

Anyone see this?

That was a terrible terrible call. I think I made the comment in the game thread that I knew no matter how well we played that we didn't have the refs on our side and it wasn't going to happen.

i was on the other side of the stadium so i didn't complain too much but it looked clean to me.

I saw that as well and couldn't believe my ears when the TV announcers pronounced that "the hit was clearly out of bounds".

While we're talking about bad calls, what was Tucker's unsportsmanlike for? It looked like he just got up celebrating, didn't look like taunting.

It was a bad call. The Baylor runner sold it by not protecting himself as he was going out of bounds.

Clean hit, bad call indeed. I doubt anyone on here would argue it was dirty/flag worthy.

I am also interested in Tucker's flag. He is high energy, but far from dirty or a hot head (insert dreadlocks joke here.)

When I watched it live, I thought it was a dumb hit on our part. After watching the replay, the Baylor player's last step was pretty clearly inbounds when our player left his feet to make the hit. It was a bad call.

Overall, I have to say I was REALLY impressed with how our team responded after costly penalties, especially in that first quarter. When that TD got called back, only to have the next play go for a TD? Friggin awesome.

I thought the call was questionable in real-time, but on the replay he clearly had one foot in bounds and one leg up in the air running forwards yet. So, upon replay I thought the call was...not particularly good.

I think it was because he stepped over the qb....which is a completely stupid reason for a flag

It looked to me like the running was trying to juke to the inside and then out, kind of like I might step out and I might not, and yes he was clearly in bounds when hit, and it wasn't even close. The officiating was not great, but,unlike Iowa fans, I'm pretty much used to ISU being on the short end of things. Still should have won the game, just need to execute at the end..

Tucker kind of pointed at him with both fingers a couple times. Right, left, right, left...that's wat he got called for. But it was a lame call.

I agree, I was upset when it happened because I saw that he was clearly in when hit so that was a bs call. The call on Tucker could be justified as he was taunting as he was getting up. My gripe about the call on Tucker was that if you're going to make that call you can't let Linwood taunt the whole second half every time he made a good run.

Exactly, Lynwood would get up and at least one time walked/pushed the defender about 7 yards acting like a douche bag.

Something I had never seen before was when Russell grabbed the ref running to prevent the snap while we made subs after Baylor had near the end of the first half. I thought making contact with an official would have to be unsportsmanlike conduct, but nothing came of it. Anyone have any insight?

Tucker stood over Russell and waved his hands in a "get at me" way. I guess he may have said something too. Seemed pretty weak to me given what transpires in most college games I've seen.

Bad call, he was dancing down the sideline, and stepped sideways right before impact. Apparently our defender should either let him keep going or disregard the laws of physics and stop mid-air.
