Iowa State Confidence Picks Game

Would anyone like to play "Iowa State Confidence Picks," a game that uses confidence points for predictions of Iowa State’s season? There are some good games on this site (e.g. College Football Survivor, Big 12 Survivor), but I thought this one could be fun and I don’t think it has been done here.

Here is how it works:

1. Before kickoff on Saturday, pick whether Iowa State wins or loses in each of its games for the entire season.

2. Assign confidence points for each pick (1 through 12 with 12 being the pick for which you are the most confident).

3. Sit back and watch. Or change your confidence picks for games that haven’t happened and confidence points that haven’t been used. If you make changes, do so in a new post and draw attention to the change. Please, no editing of posts. That is just too hard to keep track of.

4. If your prediction for the game was correct, then you get the points. If your prediction was incorrect, then you lose the points. This gives us a big range of +78 to -78.

5. I will post standings after each weekend.

Example. Suppose that I picked Iowa State to win each game, but they actually only win four games (UNI, EIU, SJSU, KU). Here are my confidence picks and the running total of points I earned through the season:

· TCU. Lost 1 Confidence Point. +14
· SJSU. Won 11 Confidence Points. +25

· KSU. Lost 9 Confidence Points. +2
· OU. Lost 2 Confidence Points. 0
· KU. Won 12 Confidence Points. +12
· TTU. Lost 8 Confidence Points. +4
· WV. Lost 6 Confidence Points. -2

Even though Iowa State only won 4 games, I still had a mediocre score in this example because I predicted the correct outcome of my 10th, 11th, and 12th confidence picks.
