That's not the issue I have with it. When Facebook was started it was about being in contact with and following friends. With the way it is set up now ads and other pages I have liked make it hard to even find friends posts at times.

That and the people that post 25 pictures of what they do everyday drive me crazy with it anymore.

I deleted it January 3rd, thought I would miss it. Still have not thought once about getting it back.

I believe my last post was "When you finally play your first good team all year in January." May have been my most responded to post in my Fb history.

Don't use it as much anymore.

I hate the dumb ass posts from all the radio stations. Terrible memes, stupid videos, that get shared millions of times. Drives me nuts.

Looking at my news feed, 18 of the first 20 items are memes or vine-type videos. I remember all the "movement" on myspace pages as a real turn off? Anyone else notice this?

Sounds to me like you need better friends who don't just share a bunch of memes and vine-type videos.

Facebook has been myspace for like 2-3 years now. Facebook is full of old people.

IMO, Facebook has been split into two groups 1) people aged 30 and older who can post and/or see pictures of their kids/grandchildren 2) People that are trying to impress their peers by posting pictures of their vacations/meals/fitness accomplishments, etc.

Facebook did a good job marketing and making a fairly user-friendly product that didn't "scare" older users. Unfortunately for them, that was also a good way to alienate them from the younger demographic.

To be fair, I think every social media platform will have a limited lifespan from here on out. Once the older demographic catches on to it, the younger generation is going to find something that is uniquely "theirs".

I used to really like facebook...5-6 years ago. Now it's for:

1. Old people
2. Nosy people
3. People who think that everyone cares about what they're doing or their kids.

I got rid of it quite awhile ago and have not missed it once. I love the facebook addict that has to tell you "Did you see this guy from our hometown died?" or "Did you see this girl is pregnant again?". WTF do I care about that? If I wanted to keep up with some old acquaintance, I'd make an effort to.
