MONDAY MUSINGS: Campos likely out for the season; analysis

So serious question here... Big if...but IF the Big12/SEC merger WERE to happen... how does that affect media rights? is a 14 team SEC more valuable than a 24 team BiSEC? That's a lot of inventory. I'm trying to look at this objectively thru the eyes of the SEC. I could see Mizzou/Arkansas moving to the "West" . I don't see aTm wanting to be back with Texas schools but could just do that too.

Do they relegate and make two levels? There are so many options with a 24 team league i'd really be interested in how it would play out.

A big conference merger isn't likely to happen unless it happens under an umbrella where ALL major conference teams agree to do it. I just can't picture it happening half way. And it is possible that the network TV money moves in such a way that it becomes more likely, someday.

I'm with Chris, regional rivalries and ability to travel MATTERS when getting people to come to campus to watch games. But TV revenue dwarfs game day revenue, which is why conferences spend all their time concerned about it, and don't worry about game day until seats start showing up empty.
 
Absolutely so took it basically during Kirk's tenure. Simple process champ. And it is "you're" or "you are" the troll in your post. What humors me is the bunch of posts in other threads from your own posters ripping the same position you and others especially GTO are taking. You have Gridiron members making fun of some arguments by people like GTO. Too sad.

You're saying Auburn would have to travel to Manhattan every year in a 24 team conference?
 
Oh Dear God u believe Auburn would be in a 24 team conference when they don't play their SEC rivals each year but maybe on luck of the draw get ISU, Kansas and Texas Tech? Surely Alabama and LSU would be all in on those 2 teams you are thinking of adding. Like Alabama v. UCONN mid-November is Storrs or LSU going to Dekalb Thanksgiving weekend. Wow beyond delusional.

No champ simply responding to the delusional world you Clones live in. Yep you have a huge rep and the SEC would love to have you in theieconference. You have regularly been in Big bowl games. Outside of Story County this is really a storm brewing.
 
Hawksteeler is who I'm thinking of. Poor guy left bc he couldn't figure out how to quote and came back as crashdavis.
