From what I could tell of Alex's comments, he always said something like.... "the thought is that Cameron Lard will still be here".

To me, there is enough wiggle room there to be a little up in the air.

A 20% chance at an athlete like Lard is better than a 95% chance with a walk-on caliber player. Even if we all liked Ernst, CSPs job depends on getting difference makers. That takes risk.

Hopefully Lard can at least be a partial qualifier. He probably won't factor in much this year regardless, but he has enough of a ceiling to take him even if he is a partial qualifier this year.
