Iowa Football Recruiting

Meh, kind of depends on how their schedule would have shaken out.

And you are also assuming the higher ranked Sagarin team would win each game played.

Reality is ISU won 3 games last year and it doesnt look like they will win many more this year.

I prefer to live in reality.

Dan, you can't even see reality from where you are...

But I am damn glad you are back. Heard the rumor and had to pop in for the summer to see if it was true. No disappointment.

^ESPN dumps Grantland and keeps a turd with nothing better to do that be a childish troll to a college athlete.

He was trolling, like he always does, but the whole conversation was pretty light-hearted. I don't think Lazard minded at all.

Touché on the Grantland point though, that was a damn shame.

tbh, Jack Trice Stadium is the more historic stadium. Given the fact it was the first college football stadium ever named after an African American.

I hate to defend that "historic" dump, but both stadiums are unique in their names. JTS the only one named after an African American, and I think Kinnick is still the only one named after a Heisman winner.

Oh don't get me wrong, I think Nile Kinnick is a great individual to name your stadium after. Heisman winner, lost his life in military service. I was just trying to kick up a little dirt :spinny:

^Whenever the ******* pink locker room comes up, I wonder what Nile Kinnick would think. Somehow I imagine his reaction would be an eye roll and a sigh.

Nile Kinnick, Jr. learned a lot of what he knew about football from his dad, Nile Kinnick, Sr. who was a quarterback for Iowa State.

Interesting that Nile used part of his Heisman acceptance speech to advocate for US isolationism - that is keeping out of the war - but ultimately volunteered for the Naval Air Reserve when the US found itself immersed in the war. You won't catch me speaking ill of Nile Kinnick, the man.

Good news on the Calloway front, much to CyTwins' chagrin.

Rumors swirling that he is visiting OU for a recruiting BBQ this weekend. He has squashed that and said he doesnt communicate with OU and reiterated that he has no plans to visit other schools.

The only remaining visit he will take is his official to Iowa for a game this fall.

Hopefully he enjoys his visit to Norman this weekend. Where there's smoke...

False alarm in regards to the smoke.

It was initially reported by someone on 247 earlier in the week but the OU Rivals site never had him on their list of visitors.

He actually asked the guys at HR to spread the word that he isnt taking any visits besides his official to Iowa.

That's what they all say. I'm sure it won't be too hard for Stoops to convince him to play in a real conference
