Iowa game at Kinnick under the lights?

You all have fun. I will be drinking in the comforts of my home that day

May be one of the best post to av correlations

I was in the parking ramp to the east of the stadium connected to the Fieldhouse for that evening/night game in 2002- I swear that we were wadeing around in beer cans up to our knees when it was time to leave that night.... The struggle was real for many of us later that night.....

I'd be more worried about the ones they **** in and then throw. I've never seen any group of people avoid using bathrooms more than Iowa fans on game days.

I can fight crowds to stand in line for 10 minutes to take a leak, or I can stay in my seat and wash my pants when I get home. Seems like a no brainer.

Sounds like it according to Marc Morehouse's Twitter feed. He states he is 99% certain that ISU and Michigan will be Iowa's night games. The debauchery in Iowa City is going to be off the charts if true.

The ISU-Iowa game I last witnessed at night was the 2002 ISU comeback victory vs the greatest Iowa fb team ever.

Watching that cocky Iowa team toward the end of the 1st half (sitting behind the Iowa bench a few rows up) laughing and dancing and local TV news guys hopping around wetting their pants--and Hayden up in the press box on radio proclaiming "Just like old times" as Iowa was leading 23-3.

So ecstatic ISU shut those mouthy Hawkeye traps. Iowa's Fred Barr and those other jackholes on defense. Hayden Fry....stfu. I sat around some nice Iowa blue hair fans....who were so angry at FreeRentz at the end...LOL

Leaving Kinnick, into the dark night was surreal....eerily quiet as 60,000 Iowa fans emptied like it was a funeral procession....and around 10,000 of us floating on air

When Iowa loses to ISU in FB, one of the greatest forms of entertainment is the ride home in the car, listening to Soundoff on 1040AM WHO or 600AM WMT.

The hate, vitriol, nastiness, dismissiveness, melt-down, arrogance of Iowa fans calling in bashing ISU

After these ISU wins, we have laughed all the way home

The WHO show has went down hills since Zablle isn't on there anymore being the chief excuse maker. Add that to Jon Miller not being on there telling the radical fans how right they are when the rip on the team. The show just isn't as fun as it used to be.

I was thinking about actually going to the game at Kinnick this year. Now, I'm having second thoughts. IC is not a fun place to be . . . even when we win . . . especially when we win.

Tailgated the Minnesota game last year, there were 6 porta's in a lot bigger than the student lot. 3 groups of 2. The 2 close to me were by a road so had to wait in line with people just passing by to other lots too. I think I was the only guy that waited in line rather than just peeing between cars. 20 min+ each time until people started heading to the game about an hour before. I have yet to have a good experience in IC but only tailgated 5 games in different environments. I would never go for an ISU game there.

I tailgated for the isu game there two years ago with a bunch of isu buddies, and never once saw anything go beyond heckling.

I'm sure it exists, but I feel like some of you expect to be treated like princesses on the road.

A decade or so ago Iowa City used to be a pretty decent place to tailgate. Now it's just awful.

Sat in the student section on Jake Knotts interception game. I was expecting way worse. Besides this dumb chick who thought she was entitled to everything and yelled at us for 10 minutes, it wasn't that bad. Few cans/cups thrown at us after that interception, but wasn't bad.

Lot of yelling at us while walking back to we were staying but I feel like that is to be expected.

Been to 4 ISU/Iowa games in Iowa City, and Ive never seen anything that Ive also no seen in Ames for the same game. You have your share of drunk idiots on both sides, but its not that bad. In fact, one of the funnest nights I ever had in Iowa City was after the 2002 game...

It was 24-7, Einstein, but don't let the facts get in the way of your masturbatory fantasy.

Chalk me up as being in the "I'll believe it when I see it" camp. Morehouse is a great writer but I seriously doubt that his sources on this would be better than anyone else's. It's been "rumored" to be a night game almost every year that I can remember.

Also, if Michigan is a night game, the odds of a second one happening go down dramatically. The B1G slate the weekend of the CyHawk game is pretty weak as I recall, so ABC may want it for the 2:30 window again. A night game would almost certainly be on BTN only.

This game should NEVER be at night. I understand that TV makes all the decisions on this though. Neither Iowa or ISU has any say one way or the other.

I agree though, this might finally put an end to this series, which would be fine with me. It should be a great, fun, instate rivalry game, but it just isn't that. It's far from that. It's generally just pure hatred coming from both sides, and nothing really good comes from it at all.

The sooner this series ends the better IMO. And if they play this thing at night this year, that might just be enough to do it. The true football fans on both sides don't really want this thing to continue. It's not an enjoyable game to attend anymore for true football fans. For drunken idiots that don't care about football, sure, it's a great thing. Not so much for the rest of us.
