On to Football Season

Oh, dear dumb, dumb Hok fan. CyTwins is trolling you. Just trying to help ya out, but it is funny that you keep falling for such an obvious troll.

It's not even trolling though. The only people that consider a play in game as making the tournament are the NCAA apparently and fans of teams that lose in the play in game. If ISU were to lose in a play in game I would absolutely not consider it a tournament appearance.

Which is all that matters and not your opinion. You are arguing against a fact. Quite funny.

I know you are trolling, because when you had your troll going on this subject in the other thread, and I really didn't know if you believed what you were saying or if you were trolling. Then you fessed up that you knew it was a NCAA appearance.

Hey if you and the NCAA want to call losing a play in game as an "NCAA Tournament appearance" the rest of the college basketball world will laugh at both of you equally. I guess it's your choice.

I don't consider it an NCAA appearance and neither do any of my friends that are Hawk fans. Must just be the message board fans that cling to it

Were they playing in a Thursday or Friday game?

If not, just participated in a warm-up game.

Oh my, Hawk fans thumping their chests about a basketball play-in game for a couple of pages in a football thread. Well done.:biglaugh:

Well, regardless of any Hawk or Clone fan opinions, it was an NCAA appearance whether they like it or not. That is a fact. Just like it counts as a bowl appearance for going 6-6.

64 teams get seeded and make the NCAA Tournament. Iowa was not one of them three years ago. You're trying too hard

I'm done arguing fact vs. opinion. The original statement I wrote still holds. The Iowa bball program is a lot better when compared against the ISU football program historically.

Historically yes but since 2000 Iowa State football has 8 Bowl appearances and in that time frame Iowa Basketball only has 5 NCAA tournament appearances. I'm not saying ISU football is better than Iowa basketball but I think it's fair to compare them

CHOOSE YOUR OWN FRANVENTURE:

Fran is recruiting a kid and he gives the "3 tournaments in a row" schpiel and the kid was like, "but one of those was a play in game, that doesn't count does it?" and Fran was like no it counts and then the kid was like, "Admit it was a play in game and it doesn't count and I'll keep you on my list".

DO YOU:

a) respond with "ASK A REAL QUESTION!"
b) kick something
c) pull out your national championship runner up ring and challenge the recruit to tell him that Iowa wasn't the second best team in the nation
d) admit that it was a play in game to keep the recruitment on track

While y'all are arguing about semantics with NCAA tourney games, Iowa landed their second top 100 recruit in football.

Carry on with your 10 time national champion head coach, and how about you tweet a little more about your assistant coaches winning awards at MAC schools.

That is not accurate. They only have 1 in Rivals top 250 actually

I think McCaffery just scored again.

And you've collected another 500 soda cans to take to Wal Mart to buy a new tigerhok hat to match your Fighting Illini sweatshirt?

The local tavernhawk rabble were sobering up in the coffee shop this morning and complaining about the new Hawk president wanting to use money from athletics to help fund the rest of the university. Not sure exactly what they were worked up about but heard some "damn liberal kooks" rumblings. Maybe this is part of their "Fans First" initiative to raise all the ticket prices but individual game prices more than season tickets?
