***Official 2016 Transfer Thread***

Eh, wut? I doubt this very highly. I believe that some schools are choosing to move towards multi year scholarships but if they can still choose how long they want them to be. If they have an extra scholarship being unused due to a player transfer or whatever, they can still award that to a walk on for the season and then have that player go back to being a walk on the next season. Otherwise, teams would just burn the scholarship so they aren't stuck having to give it to that player for longer and that would be ridiculous.

Pursuing Cornish makes sense if you read Prohm's interview with the DMR. He's already looking to fill guard spots after next season when Naz, Monte, and Thomas will all be gone. I believe Jackson only has 1 yr of eligibility too, but may be wrong.

If they are going after Cornish is must mean he feels good about Ernst/Carter. Although he he recently said they want to add one or two bigs in the spring. Seems like we've got to hear about transfers soon.

Exactly. Something doesn't jive here. After this season was over Prohm said he needed to go out and get some BIGS (plural) for next season. That would seem to indicate that we have 2 open schollies at least. And if we're also going after Cornish, something doesn't make sense, unless we're planning on having 3 open schollies somehow?

Some conferences are now requiring 4 year scholarships rather than the year to year scholarships. So far, it is just a conference decision and not being enforced by the NCAA.

No any new freshmen starting in september 2015 sign 4 year financial aid agreements. So basically effects 2016 signees.

#Duke freshman Derryck Thornton, Jr. is transferring, sources tell Scout. Averaged 7.1 PPG and 2.6 APG this season.

Former 5 star kid. Would sit next year but could be a real solid addition once Monte, Naz and Matt leave. Imagine a lot of schools will be after him though.

Obviously we all want Bigs and/or grad transfers but this guy would be the perfect Monte replacement after next year. Although he probably will be heavily pursued like you said.

FYI - McD should have a nice team moving forward. Good move for Joseph, easier to play in the Big East rather than ACC.

@goodmanESPN Syracuse transfer Kaleb Joseph is headed to Creighton, sources told ESPN. Will sit one and have two left.

The irony of McD's success landing transfers at Creighton and the amount of players ISU who left ISU during his run isn't lost on me either.

Like most of us, he probably learned a great deal from his failure here.

Definitely wouldn't turn this guy away if he wanted to come here, but I think I'd almost rather land McKinley Wright. Still get a solid PG for 2017 but not have to burn a scholly this year.

What?!! He is a 5 star kid who could step in as a redshirt sophomore and most likely be a stud right away. Much better than Wright.

I'm still anxiously awaiting the announcement of who is leaving. Thought we'd get that Friday but Monte and Georges had the day.

I'm not saying that isn't true but I'm not sure we have the luxury next season to use a scholarship on someone sitting out.
We'll find out this week what's happening with the scholarships, I'm sure, so maybe an extra will be available.

If a recruit or transfer is good enough coaches will always find a way to fit him in.

No.

Ron Harris, Ron Virgil, Terrance Allen and of course, Barry Stevens here.

You are talking my time frame Cyclonepride! T Allen was in my basketball officiating PE class. Dude could jump out of the gym for a guard. My first memory from pick-up basketball over in old Beyer was of Ron Harris planting a knee in my chest as he dunked over me. He landed straddling me on the floor with the wind knocked out and said, "No charges in pick-up...white boy." Barry caught me one day in the library (his senior year) and needed help completing his Library 160 assignment so he could graduate. Don't forget Raynal Harris on that team too. I had to guard him one time in pick-up ball and dude sweated like no one's business. He could only play a game or two before changing his shoes as he sweated through them.

I honestly on occasion just sit back and wonder just what in the **** McDingle did while at ISU that caused the dumpster fire Hilton had to witness those years... My lord it frustrates me.
