Following the skills camp today, certain members of the staff were discussing who looked good, who would start if there was to be a game now. According to several, if the Cyclones were to play a game tomorrow this is what the starting line-up would look like. Take it how you want it; as we all know, things will change, this is just based off performance up to this date.

1. Diante Garret
2. Bryan Petersen
3. Sean Haluska
4. Craig Brackins
5. Justin Hamilton

diante garrett
dominique buckley
lucca staiger
craig brackins
JVB

After everything we've heard, I'm really shocked to see Lucca not on the list...

Diante G
Dominique B
Lucca S
Craig B
Alex T

With Eikmeyer (sp?), JVB, and Mann being the key reserves.

I assume they were probably basing it on people they were watching here this summer. At least that's my hope.

Which wouldn't make sense since Lucca is still a team member and if he's not a starter we're in deep do-do.

I was a little disappointed in JVB inside game, but he's here for one reason...So, Brackins does not get double teamed. JVB shots will come from the 3 point line...If we need more inside game, expect Hamilton and AT.

No offense to either but if Peterson and Haluska are more than role players off the bench I'll be extremely disappointed.

Hulaska gaurded Roby and Rush...and did great job on them...Hopefully, he won't go 0-26 to start the season again.

:biglaugh:

Prepare for disappointment.

Looks like 2009 or 2010 for NIT at this point if this is the way it shakes out. SH cannot afford to be 0 for 26 and BP needs to get over his parking lot pull up spot way outside. Appears that CB will have a lot of pressure to rebound.

I think fans are going to pleasantly surprised by what they see...Pieces are starting to fall into place.

I dont think I will be. They have they experience to help out more. If the new guys dont get better and these two are the best of whats there, I will be dissapointed in the new guys.

My hopes are, now that we have some depth and more potential talent, there wont be alot of crazy or forced shots. I would hope that are plays start to get crisper and the ball is pushed around more before a shot goes up in despiration.

I try not to argue starting line up because it can change so much between the start of the season and from game to game.

It really boils down to...Brackins, DG, and Lucca seeing significant minutes...everybody else, depends on who is playing well and our opponent.

I think the Known For sure starters would be:
Brackins
Garrett
Stiager

Then I think its Peterson and Haluska fighting for the starting 2 spot.
Peterson has a nice shot, and handles the ball better. SH is a better defender and better at the stop and pop shot.

Then its probably JVB and Thompson for the 4 spot. Thompson has edge in experience, and I have never seen JVB play.

Well, if we had a game tomorrow, Lucca would be in Germany and would be unable to start. My guess is they were just talking about who was around, not who would start at the beginning of the season. I wouldn't be totally stunned if that was the lineup, except for Hamilton who would be an extremely pleasant surprise.
