Iowa board response when Purdue fan asked about cyclones

So they think Purdue beats ISU by 20 when ISU beat Iowa who beat Purdue twice huh? Ok I guess.......

Their board is crazy right now. There is almost no discussion about Temple. Its all about Iowa State, complaining about the Big 10 seeds, complaining about the Big 12 seeds and a little about there chances to beat Villanova. There is more discussion about Iowa State vs. Purdue than there is about Iowa vs. Temple. I don't think their fans even care if they win anymore. They just want Iowa State to either get upset by Iona, or lose to a Big 10 team Purdue so they have something to talk about for the next 12 months.

That's pretty much it.

Also, what board? I want to dive in but cannot find it on HN. Spring Break BABY!

It's on the rivals board

So.....you root for the other Iowa school who has fans that write crap like this, huh? Thanks for sharing tho.

I root for my home state - I don't let their idiot fans decide for me...but yep it was a crap post.

I really tried, but I couldn't get through the first page of that dumpster fire of a thread. Too much stupid. That wraps up any attention I will give to those numbnuts.

Their mascot is supposedly the hero from the fictional novel Last of the Mohicans, although if you look at their logo, its clearly a buzzard head. They proudly wear the colors of the Christian heavy metal band, Stryper.

First- Iona scares me and I am in no way looking ahead. I was checking out the iowa boards to see what they thought of their draw ( yes I root for the other Iowa schools when the are not playing the Cyclones). Purdue fan asked board what they thought of a potential Purdue and Iowa state match up. One of the more interesting responses:

Great offensive players, don't bother to play much defense. They only run 6 deep and are often too tired to keep fighting late in games. Their roster is mostly transfers who quit on other teams, an attitude embraced by Cyclone fans and coaches alike. Their team leader is Georges Niang, who has racked up over 2000 career points while giving up over 3500. He acts like an idiot and may try to grab his opponent's genitals. Their old coach quit after losing to UAB, and after being a top 5 preseason team, they finished this year 10-10. Being in the Big 12 is the only reason they aren't a 9 seed. Purdue will be the most physical team they've played in months, and should win by 20+.

Their mascot is supposedly a cyclone, although if you look at it, its clearly a bird trapped in a cyclone. They proudly wear the colors of McDonalds/ketchup and mustard.

For any Temple fans coming to this board, let me offer my review of Iowa:

Mostly average offensive players, except in spurts by the skeleton and the little shooting guard that was so bad last year he went into WitPro and changed jersey #'s, and they don't bother to score much in the final five minutes of games. They only run 6 deep and are often too tired to make layups late in games. Their roster is mostly white guys who weren't good enough to be on other teams or transfered from other schools where they didn't play, a tradition embraced by Iowa fans and coaches alike. Their team leader is Sloth from the Goonies, who has racked up over 100 career jump-ball arm grabs and not much else while going 4-34 on dunks inside two feet in his career. He acts like an idiot and may try to poke his opponent's eyes or shush his own crowd. Their old coach quit after being so terrible that the Iowa AD picked a guy from Sienna that has one tournament win over Davidson in the six years since, and after correctly not being ranked to start the year, they finished by losing 6 of 8, including a loss to 13-19 Illinois to be knocked out of the Big 10 tournament for the fourth straight year in the first round. It was also the first-ever loss by a 5 seed to a 12 in the Big 10 tournament. Being in the Big 10 is the only reason they aren't a 16 seed. Temple will be the best team they've played in months, and Temple should win by 20+.

Their mascot is supposedly a hawk, although if you look at it, its clearly Zach McCabe inside that suit because you know nobody else is employing that **** right now.

I like the potential match-up against Purdue because of their struggles with Iowa earlier this year. Iowa played fast and ran Purdue out of the game both times they played. I think ISU would do something very similar.

As an Iowa fan, and not one of those Iowa fans that hates ISU, your last line in this is gold! Also, I think you are a little strong on the Woodbury dunk attempt numbers! Plus, I can only think of 3 dunks for him off the top of my head.

I'm going to go ahead and say this was probably HerkyFan over on their Rivals page? That guy is just the worst and even their own fans think he's a moron.

And really guys, a 3 page thread about what an Iowa fan, and ISU hater, had to say about your team? Is it any worse than the ISU fans who hate Iowa would say about us? Not a chance! I mean, I get you calling Iowa fans "butthurt", but look at your guys over here complaining about what someone said....on a message board....come on!

Plus, I think you guys have a good shot at beating Purdue, if that's your 2nd round match up. Their guards aren't all that great, and they don't play necessarily quick ball. If you push is up the court and make your jumpers, you'll have a great shot at the Sweet 16. Their bigs are good, and they'll push McKay around, and out rebound you by 10, but their weak guard play will be their downfall, and ISU's biggest advantage.

This is correct. Venomous resentment and projected inadequacies are their forte.
They would rather something bad happen to someone else, than something good happen to them.

I was going to say that this, The Yearly Collapse, was a bad time for them, but then remembered they still haven't evacuated the Rose Bowl experience from their gullets. By which I mean Ronnie Harmon.

Like a crabby old man living alone in a trailer, they cannot abide their younger, better-looking, better-educated sibling -- aka Us -- succeeding. At all. Every mention of us sends him into a frothing rage.

So sad. So very, very sad.

Jeez, I'm glad we have CyTwins putting Hawks in their place and not HerkyFan. That guy is embarrassing.
