Potential transfers (Rohach to transfer)

That is where my mind went - which would be sad because I think he has the potential to be really good.

Epps is also a true freshman and looked solid. We are obviously going to lose some players, and likely would have either way after the season. Some might just hurt more than others

Football is not the only input that goes into a decision like that. What if he wasn't completely comfortable at Iowa State for school, but was sticking around because he loved his coaches. There is so much more to decisions like this that "what makes the most sense for my football future".

Nobody is saying he "can't" leave, or that he might not have overriding personal reasons for doing so. What IS being said is that, in terms of his football career and future....it would be an absolutely horrible decision for the kid. He would be putting himself in a terrible situation with just one year to try and prove himself to NFL scouts...and if he goes to a program like USC, he may not be able to break into the starting lineup (as that team is generally loaded with 4 and 5 star kids ALSO working towards an NFL future).

If Cotton-Moya has any desire to play in the NFL, he really must stay at ISU...transferring would be a severe blow to his future prospects.

Again, though, he may have some strong personal reasons unrelated to football that necessitate his leaving...reasons so important that the override the fact that he'd be ruining his chances at making the league. Best of luck to him wherever he goes.

I just want to add that I believe Cyclone nation TRULY and greatly appreciates ALL of our student athletes! Why else do you continue to see a PACKED Jack Trice Stadium year on end - in spite of devastating disappointments! Any football player NOT returning to experience the resurgence of success under Matt Campbell is selling himself short! We're ALL dealt herdship in our lives, BUT what determines character is NOT how lucky or priveleged we are...it's how we OVERCOME circumstances! Everyone should take a LONG (and STRONG) Look at Abdel Nader on the MBB team!

If I were Epps I'd be royally ****** that CPR and staff blew his RS year. What a complete waste of a year. We had 5-6 WRs that we're going and did play more. Horrible...selfish decision by the staff. As for Moya..if he leaves for another fbs school his shot at the nfl just decreased about 80%. You don't transfer as a 2 year starter and lose a year of eligibility by choice unless you are so miserable that staying would compromise your sanity.

Nader may not be the best example to convince players not to transfer.

On the bright side here, with all the transfers there will be more than 12 scholarships for the new coach to work with.

So, where is there an account of the supposed large list of transfers? Yes, it has been stated here that Cotton Moyà, Rohach (official) and a receiver (either Daley, Epps or Wesley) are considering transfer, but that doesn't equal 12 scholarships as stated in this thread. I am not saying I don't believe it, only asking for account of the names. Who are the others?

Your use of capital letters in key places has convinced me.

Yep. They said D'vario is gone.

Seems odd given he's already sat out for transfer year....so he's going to lose a full year of eligibility unless he drops down a division. Fortunately, we have some very good young guys like Wesley, Epps and Butler. We also have Daley who's played well at times. Montgomery had something of a mediocre season so his loss isn't good but its not a huge deal. Would certainly prefer he came back but apparently he's out the door.

Dvario was a junior this year, so if he sat out a year he'd have no eligibility?

This totally awesome receiving core this year is losing Budrage and now D'Vario, back to square one I guess.
