Potential next Defensive Coach Hire....

Anyone wh coached under Beckman I'll take..the guy can coach defense and recruit. Wts..I know this sounds crazy but wonder if Beckman would get a look as our DC? I'd take him in a heartbeat so long as that crap wasn't true.

Ward was co-defensive coordinator at Toledo so I wouldn't be surprised if we were bringing him in as our DC

Jason Candle is Head Coach at Toledo and will coach the Bowl Game. Heacock the Defensive Coordinator is no longer Interim Head Coach......just the DC. Wonder if Matt Campbell is thinking of bringing him to Iowa State.

Perhaps it is a good thing for us to go in a different direction on offense (run oriented, and clock consuming); but, the DC better have a damn good idea (and experience) on how to handle spread offenses. Just my opinion; but, a MAC DC is likely ill prepared to deal with a Baylor, TCU, Oklahoma, etc.

Not that the bottom half of the B12 can deal with those offenses. And we aren't getting a P5 OC who has successfully dealt with Baylor, TCU and OU in any case- even if such OCs exist.

When we were looking for a HC, we were clear that we prefer a non P5 HC over any P5 assistant.

Now when choosing an OC, we probably have to either a non P5 OC or a P5 position coach.

Was looking into that last night, I don't know if we'd go that route with our "nice guy" coach image to maintain, Pollard sure seems like those values are paramount to the image of the university but again there was the incident at Toledo that nobody is talking about on here either.

I am sure that we did not differentiate between P5 and non-P5......but there were not any P5 Coaches that were good that we felt we would be able to offer and get.

Same thing goes for OC and DC. If the right P5 Coordinator was out there that Matt Campbell wanted and fit in the salary pool he has and was a possibility, we would go after him.

So how much would it be actual statistical figures would Coach and Pollard have to pay out to steal co DC Tressel from MSU?
