The team is showing promise, just can't come away with the W's. I know people want to blame this loss on Rhoads, but it's hard to coach your players to fumble 3 times in 4 plays. Crap luck.

On the coaching front - I'm not a Rhoads sympathizer, but I think ISU would be worse off next year with a regime change. Too many coaching openings to get a new stud coach, and the offense seems to be playing better the last few weeks with whatever system they put in place.

I'm sure this post will degenerate into the typical coach bashing. Let me get you started.

Iowa State has been outscored 45-7 in the last two 2nd halves.

I was going to say more, but I don't think I have to.

I'll start that degeneration right here:

I won't be excited about next football season unless there's another coach at the helm.

You do realize that we shouldn't have even been running plays on those last two fumbles that didn't involve immediately kneeling down?

OP, I don't think you have an appreciation for the coaching ineptitude required to pull off the last 1:26 of that ball game. That is a special kind of bad.

Changing coaches now actually makes a little more sense if you like Lanning/Warren/Lazard because they would all get the 2016 season to learn the system before (hopefully) a successful 2017 with all of them here.

I see your point, but if Ayeni goes I don't see Warren sticking around. Lanning and Lazard are ISU guys though.

I haven't calculated it out, but ISU started that drive with 1:31 on the clock and KSU had 1 timeout. If ISU knelt on the ball 3 times, they may have still had to punt. KSU already had a KO return for a TD and their return man was dangerous. All ISU had to do was get 1 1st down and the game was done.

Wow - that must be CPR and JP fake name post. What a crock of ****. That was the worst coaching job I have ever witnessed. He should just go home and pack. There is no saving him - and the Warren lovers who say he will go if Ayeni goes - then good luck Mike. The staff is atrocious!

I look at this game as a sign from God that we are to get a new head coach. Paul needed this game. He had this game won. He found a way to lose this game. And therefore I have lost my patience and giving him the benefit of the doubt.

That miraculous finish by K-State is a sign from God that CPR should not be our coach next year. And who are we to argue with God????
