Why the hell not...

Iowa looked pretty mediocre in their win against Illinois State. Iowa State looked pretty mediocre in their win against UNI.

That said, including series history and location of this game, I think ISU beats Iowa 24-20. Both teams look evenly matched. Home field advantage plays a part in another Cy-Hawk victory!

We will have to contain Canzeri and shore up the screens. I like that Beatherd isn't going to hurt us as much with his feet. Mobile Qb's will be a challenge, but was impressed with our dB's.

If our Dline can get pressure on the Qb we will be fine defensively.

We do need to get a running game started to be successful for the remainder of the games.

Finally I hope Netten shakes this game off and comes back to be the kicker we all know he can be.

I thought IA looked good today. It was hard to tell what ISU looked like listening to the radio?

Most Iowa State fans will pick Iowa State. Most Iowa fans will pick Iowa. Both teams looked better than expected against good FCS opponents. However, I learned a long time ago that the games leading up to Iowa/Iowa St. have little to no predictive ability.

That being said, I see Iowa struggling to move the ball consistently because of the inability of the receivers to get open. I see Iowa State struggling to move the ball because I think Iowa's defense is pretty darn good- really good cornerbacks and a pretty good defensive line. The difference may come down to whether Iowa has improved from last year in defending perimeter runs and whether or not Iowa State is equipped to test them and find out. At the end of the day, I think Iowa's ability to run the ball semi-effectively lets them bleed enough clock to hang on in the end. 20-17 Iowa.

Depends which ISU team shows up. If we play like we did in the first half against UNI, we won't win. If we play like we did in the second half, I think we can take them

Cyclones 28, Fighting Canaries 9. ISU's new look defense confuses Beathard, and he throws at least 3 ints, plus at least 1 fumble recovery from a Fighting Canary RB. The ISU offense scores at least 2 TDs off of TOs. Special teams, and/or the defense scores at least 1 TD as well. The Fighting Canaries score on FGs.
