Recruit Lists v2.0

We need a "Dead Horse" forum to discuss Monte leaving early. Every angle of every side has already been discussed a dozen times. He either will or will not leave early based on how he does this year and how he is projected. As of now we don't know how that will play out.
I am relatively new here but I have not seen any discussion about the possibility of him getting a degree. He will have completed 3 years of college and if he is on track to graduate in 1 year, it should be a major part of his decision. That would NOT be that important for a one and done player.

I've not seen that discussed either. Very few can do that in 3 years so i doubt it's the case. M. Gessell did but it's a rare occurrence. Granted, they go to summer classes, but still.

My guess is that if he was on track to graduate in 3 years it would have come up by now.

Scout also updated their rankings today. Simpson at 55, Eric Curry at 98 & Cook at 100.

Didn't realize Curry was that highly regarded. I DO think rankings matter. Add him to my want list. Looks like Prohm has done a good job of recognizing talent and building some relationships in a short amount of time. Of course the next test is closing on some recruits. If he's able to pull in a couple Top 100 guys, this board is going to feel a lot more comfortable.

Need to get him to visit.

Yeah I was really surprised that Curry was ranked higher than Cook.

It all comes down to Montes scoring. He has proven his ability as a pass first guy, but scouts are waiting to see if he can take over and score. As much as Prohm likes a scoring PG and the fact that we have limited depth sets Monte up nicely to raise his scoring average. I feel like Prohm wants to get Monte pro now to improve his track record and help recruiting.

I can't imagine that. I'm sure he would like Monte to go pro when he is done here, but having him back would ease the transition to next year exponentially.

JUCO PG Darrion Strong has scheduled a visit to Iowa State. His thoughts on the Cyclones ($): http://foxs.pt/1EkkafD

Visiting Oklahoma on Sept 5 and ISU Sept 12
May officially visit Kansas, doesn't have an offer but they "have been showing strong interest"
Plans on making a decision in September
Strong, who plans to make a decision in November, said he is considering Kansas for his third official visit. The Jayhawks haven't yet offered, but have been showing strong interest in recent weeks and are expected to stop by to see him in open gym in the near future.
Self will offer since he is like the dog who wants to eat the neighbor's dog food.

I gave you a thumbs up, but that may have been the most "Mr. Obvious" response ever. On what planet would Prohm ever want Monte gone? Monte makes any team, you know, better.....
