Where does everyone dump their RV Sunday mornings after Cyclone home games? I live in Urbandale and previously used Pilot truck stop but that has since been covered up. I know the rest stop heading north out of Ames has one but would rather not make the 20 or so mile round trip out of my way if possible.

We use the one north of Ames. Have asked the city and ISU several times about why they don't install one in Ames. Zero interest unfortunately. Do the new rest stops South of Ames have dumps?

20 years ago, Ledges state park at Boone had one many ISU fans used. I don't know if that's still the case and of course it would only be practical for those headed west on 30.

There are several dump stations at the Corps campgrounds at Saylorville Lake. We have used the one at Prairie Flower Campground as well as others. I believe that there is a $8 dumping fee. It's free if you stay overnight.

Some of the tailgaters, including us will stay at one of the Saylorville Lake campgrounds the night before going up to the game (say Thursday night for a Saturday game) or stay Sunday night after leaving the lots. Sunday night is nice because all of the weekenders are gone. Then Monday morning you can dump at your leisure.

We are retired so that makes it easy to stay there before or after the game and also we get camping at 1/2 price with the dump included.

I, also dump at my leisure Monday morning, but it is usually at home, and I don't have an RV.

I hate saying this but if you only let people pee in your bathroom we just emptied ours on a gravel road or somewhere not on pavement. Essentially you aren't dumping fecal matter or chemicals if all you have is urine and dirty sink water in your tanks and maybe some toilet paper which is biodegradable so it's no worse than if you just peed outside or dumped some dirty water out. We tried to dump ours at a dump site if we could but unless you pass one on your way to or from Ames it really was our only option other than driving clear out of the way to do it. We're getting rid of our RV (it's really old too, 1977 and the tanks aren't exactly leak proof either) so this won't be an issue for us anymore. Got our money's worth of fun out of it but between the maintenance and all the extra work it takes to bring it to tailgate the time has come to sell it as soon as we can get it sale ready.

Do not want. Too much common sense.

Can we please stop with the Rashad Vaughn threads.
