ISU to B1G was discussed in 2011

I would have loved that scenario. Kind of surprised ISU was on the list instead of Mizzou. But we all know the B1G didn't value them very much for some reason. Academics?

What it shows is that ISU is a value. Probably why JP is upgrading facilities as fast as he can. Prepping for the next rodeo.

The Big 12 is too Texas heavy. Would love to go to the Big 10, but them adding Rutgers and Maryland sucks for everyone.

Curious who the "Big 12 athletic director" was that went out and contacted the Big Ten A.D.s and presidents? Jamie? Castiglione?

Look at it from a hoops perspective. 14 divisional games plus either 4 or 6 against the opposite division. That's two games per year against: UI, KU, OU, MN, NU, A&M, UW and only one -- or zero -- against: IL, IN, PU, OSU, PSU, MI, MSU, NW. (Remember, no RU or MD in this scenario.)

Home-and-home against Iowa, Minny and Wisconsin every year? That has potential.

Divisions would have been:

Div A
Iowa
Iowa State
Kansas
Minnesota
Nebraska
Oklahoma
Texas A&M
Wisconsin

Div B
Illinois
Indiana
Michigan
Michigan State
Northwestern
Ohio State
Penn State
Purdue

Would have been a fun league

I would give anything for that to happen today. I hate the B1G but it would be a stable home for Iowa state. Plus we would win more than 2 football games a year.
