Haha thanks... I think!

Also, as far as Fred owning Fran, Ill give ya last year. You guys played fantastic last year. Kicked the living crap out of us. But the year before, I dont know if I would call it "owning". If it werent for some late missed free throws, we walk away with a win in Ames. The year before that we got a W. The years before were, ISUs, however, they were at least competitive. Look, you guys are on a fantastic roll. Not taking one thing away from ya there. However, just because Iowa isnt on that level yet doesnt mean we are some sh*tty team. We are at different stages right now, but Im as happy as can be. Anything more would be icing on the cake.

Going 4-1 against a coach with 3 of the games being played in Iowa City would be the definition of "owning" IMO

You're kidding yourself if you don't think Fred owned that matchup.

Good on ISU and Fred for peaking early!

Me, I'd rather see my team improve and win in the tournament than win some games early and flame out to the likes of UAB just before my coach leaves town. But I'm just a dumb Hawkeye fan.

Hutton had WV and Wisconsin offers, and Isiah Moss had an ISU offer, along with others, and chose Iowa. Christian Williams is kind of one of those late bloomer guys who has size and skill, had a lot of mid major offers, but is still growing into his body. I follow the recruiting pretty closely, and the reason I say they're good, or have the potential, is just going by what unbiased recruiting guys have said about them. Plus, they are all going to contribute to some very much needed athleticism in the program. Im in no way saying we are churning out this all star class... far from it. But for what Iowa needs, and what Fran needs for his system, he got a pretty good class.

I love how Iowa State is at the point where hok fan now uses "they had an ISU offer" as justification for a player being good.

Welcome to ISU basketball 3 years ago.

Where do you see they are "highly ranked 3 stars"? I would consider a highly ranked 3 star one of the 41 3 star recruits that are still top 150 recruits

41 three starts that are top 150 is your only definition of "highly ranked". Ok, well, agree to disagree. I like to go by offer lists too. whatever, you and I arent seeing eye to eye on a single thing. I could call the sky blue, and you would ask for a link.

ISU won the B12 Tournament so were playing just fine at the end of the year as well as post-iowa. They picked the wrong day to play like dog crap in the NCAA. It's happened before and it will happen again. That's why everyone loves that tournament.

The last time Iowa got a seed worth mentioning they did the same thing.

Iowa is not sh**ty. They are middling to interesting. Perfect placement. Routinely beatable and good for the RPI.

I don't see that changing.

The declarative sentence "recruiting will improve" is more speculation/belief at this point. ESPN released its Top 25 for the class of 2018 and Wieskamp is listed as No. 16. If he ends up being that high (or anywhere in the Top 50) by the time that class goes to college, then we can say Iowa recruiting is improving.

Iowa is getting visits from/more interest from more guys in the Rivals 150 for 2016 than in previous years. But there is a difference between visit and signing a LOI, obviously.

If you go by offer list they are not all "highly ranked 3 star recruits". Jones and Williams had zero P5 offers and Wagner's only P5 offers were Texas Tech and Minnesota. Moss' only other P5 recruit was ISU. That's 2/3 of your class and the other two weren't highly sought after. Heck Fleming considered walking on at a P5 school.

Actually after looking at it Iowa's recruiting class consisted of 6 lowly ranked 3 star recruits. Wow

That's a good point. In all seriousness, I hope Iowa State and Iowa continue to improve and bring in good players. This state is big enough to have two good basketball programs.

I have no problem admitting that. Thats a good thing, isnt it? To get a kid from a team who are back to back Big 12 tourney champs, ranked for the better part of the last four years, and had the hottest coach in the country. Ill take it.

Or one actually good one and one that thinks they are better than everyone else no matter what the scoreboard says.

Fun fact, if Prohm beats Iowa and UNI this year he'll equal 5 years of Fran's in state prowess in the first month of his first season.

The false hope the coaching change has given Hawk fans is going to be fun.

The jones kid was interesting. They didnt an interview with his JUCO coach, and he said that there were many "major college" teams trying to offer him, but he was going to commit to Iowa, so they didnt let them offer. Im sure you're going to ask for a link. Ill try to find it.

Again, agreeing to disagree. Would you feel better if I use the word "solid" instead of "highly"? Or are you going to argue about that too?

What does that even mean? Last time I checked, Fran won us a tournament game, and has improved every single year. Why is is so hard for some of you to admit Iowa isnt some cellar dweller anymore? I have no problem admitting ISU is playing at a very high level right now.

I'd love to see a link of schools not being to offer a recruit they wanted.

You can call these lowly ranked 3 star recruits whatever you'd like. You probably thought the 2014 class was good, highly ranked 3 stars, etc too
