There may be a bit of tongue-in-cheek to your post, but...
There is another scenario as well...
Grayer is the main reason Bridges wants to come here, for those worrying about Fred leaving and hurting our chances with him. Grayer is his mentor while Coach Mann and Monte maintain a close relationship with Miles (both from Flint). Miles and Monte tweet at each other all the time too, if you're into that sort of thing

Yep. Agree. Love JP as fundraiser and his hard work toward making our Atheltic dept relevant facilities wise nationally but his hiring outside Fred(who was a once in lifetime gift) has been horrific. Lost Cael, prob losing Fred...CPR, McDermott....Chizik...etc..
Not good. I'll say this. The next 12 months will decide JP fate at ISU and that's not being dramatic. If Fred leaves this hire will be the most important hire in his tenure. CPR likely gets canned and that hire will be his 2nd most important hire in his tenure. Screw any of those two up and he gone.
That's one reason Miles is ranked so highly nationally. That makes him very difficult to defend.
If hiring Grayer gets us Bridges, then it's a no brainer IMO.... you hire Grayer.
Other teams are doing this kind of thing all the time. It's time we get in the ballgame.
ISU is the problem, not JP. If ISU had any sort of decent football tradition, JP's hirings would have been much better. An opinion, of course, as is everyone else's statements here.
Hindsight is 20/20. But at the time the Chiz hire was a strong one and quite the coup. And it even looked like CPR was an amazing hire in the first couple years. Actually, Fred was a "safe" hire and turned out to be far better than was suspected at the time. So I think people need to back the **** off Pollard's hiring.
