JTS construction webcam?

From the Board of Regent's Agenda Items - "Executive Summary: At its February 2014 meeting the Board authorized ... upgrading the stadium south video board and sound system components, ..."

Later in the same document "The university wishes to replace the existing ... with an enhanced video scoreboard and sound system with technology and interface capabilities similar to the north end zone."

I don't think there are publically disclosed specs since this part of the project was a negotiated contract rather than a competitive bid item. Don't know if this answers any of your questions.

Thanks, that is helpful. I know there had been some discussion of concern over echoing or other problems with sound systems on both ends, but it sounds like there will be a similar system with the new scoreboard.

Nobody is upset. Hate misinformation. It leads to problems.

Have you considered the possibility he spoke about the south end zone project more than once and has referred to it both as similar and the same size? Because i heard similar and had the same thought you sid until i recall him later saying same size...which seems to make sense given the dactronics specs.

To the person saying there will be speakers on either side of the south end zone - you are incorrect. Pollard has already confirmed there will NOT be. They are hoping the south end zone helps acoustics of the north speakers on its own.

Also, why did they decide to do steel for the lower bowl?

As for how they will get that crane out of there... can't they just drive it right out the north side of the stadium?

Pollard said the lower bowl is being done that way so it will be louder. Same as Century Link field in Seattle

Some nice construction photos from Register.

I think it is odd that the play clocks have been installed on the roof for weeks now; wouldn't that be one of the last things put in place?

Random guess, probably just came with all the other daktronics equipment (video board) and installers so it was installed at the same time.

I'm not entirely sure what you are so upset about. Both of the video board screens will be 79.5 feet by 36 feet unless something changed. And yes the structures that house them are slightly different sizes. What I have never seen a clear answer on is what they are doing or not doing in regards to sound systems in the south endzone.

Yeah - but that 8' of less "structure"????

Not neccesarily. Like was mentioned, if the Daktronics guys are dong the install, they'll want to do it while they are there wiring everything else up. Plus they are finishing out the inside so all the wires that get run through the interior need to be installed. Also, it looks like the two big cranes are gone so they would have needed the small RT inside the stadium to set them and it's busy doing steel (most likely being set by a sub).

As for someone who mentioned why steel instead of concrete for the interior, noise is one factor and not having to have a big crane inside the stadium tearing up the field is the other. You'd need a big crawler or hydro to set those precast panels and those would tear up the field. Stick building with the RT is probably more expensive and takes a bit longer but it doesn't impact the field at all (notice how none of the construction operation have affected the field. I'm sure that's written somewhere in the contract in bold letters).

And you like so many people have reading comprehension problems.

Actually no...i dont. AND IF YOU CAN COMPREHEND NORMAL COMMUNICATION YOU WOULD ALREADY KNOW THAT.

I had know idea how much smaller it was but I knew they weren't the same size as pollard stated they were similar.

I chuckle when people try to be funny by proving a poster was right. Makes me laugh every time.

So you're bent out of shape that the north one is 6 inches smaller than the south one? And consider that a "problem"

What if... now this is a crazy theory so

they were so similar theyre roughly the same size.

LOL ROUGHLY THE SAME SIZE ...LOL

I'm starting to wonder why they measure things. That way when people say they are the exact same size they can be right like u. Lol

There used to be a semi trailer bathroom on the track.
Edwin Arceo went in and had to drop a deuce (it took a while), and came out running and was getting a huge ovation from the ISU fans. He gave a fist bump and was smiling on his way to the bench.

The trailer bathrooms were still there last season when we played at Kansas. they did have canopies over their plush Cadillac seats in the South endzone

A couple points in which you are still wrong. First, the two video board screens are exactly the same size. The press release referenced in the earlier post says "approximately 36 feet high by 79 feet wide." The press release from 2011 for the north board said 36 feet by 79.5 feet. They did not make this new board 6 inches narrower as it would change the aspect ratio and make it a pain to have the same graphics on both boards. The measurements given in the press releases are approximations, but if you wanted to climb up and measure the two screens they would be identical in size.

Second, Jamie has said in public that the video boards are the same size. And no I don't have a link because it was in person and I don't record all of my interactions. But he has said the same at multiple functions as evidenced by multiple posters here hearing him say it. He apparently has also used the phraseology that they are similar size, because you seem certain that he has. I have heard or read football staff members saying they are similar size (because they likely don't know or care about the exact dimensions).

Also, if you are going to be such a stickler for reading comprehension and accuracy, you probably should use "no" instead of "know." And all caps doesn't indicate you are mad at all.

Lol

I am still wondering why they listed different measurements then.

I AM ALSO WONDERING WHY IT SAYS "similar to the other board" on the project website.

It's okay. I encounter people who have trouble admitting they are wrong all the time. I get it. You would rather state why the facts aren't facts rather than simply say. "I guess they aren't the same size."

1. Measurements clearly say they aren't the same size. 6" over 35' yeah :)
2. The writing on the board says "similar" which means they aren't the same.
3. Pollard has said similar over and over..
4. I really don't care that it's a little smaller. It's plenty big. I plan on enjoying the stadium very much and I'm extremely pumped for the season. I'm out.

PS I don't care if my auto correct on my phone subs a different word in and I miss it. It's a message board.
