Dejean Jones

You can wear earplugs or cover your ears for noise. If somebody has the bass going it doesn't matter if it is loud or not, it is annoying as hell. It was 3AM on a Wednesday. Most of the people on this board would have called the cops on him too. Like I said, just because he's on the basketball team doesn't mean he gets to ruin the quality of life of his neighbors.

I don't want to believe we have a bunch of tattle-tale Narcs on this board.

Similar thing happened to me a couple years back, though with building security, not police. I got a noise complaint with people over, everyone 100% sober, no music, no TV. Just regular talking. Some walls are excessively thin and some people excessively crazy about noise.

Sounds like a killer party.

Tell you what, we'll all stop calling you names if you promise to stop posting except when you have something intelligent to add. By my count you'd have about 1,080 fewer posts to date if you followed that rule. Now run along.

LOL The funny thing is, I got the guy on ignore, but he just can't help himself. Why would I ever try to have an intelligent debate with an idiot?

I'll say this for Matt White. He has balls. He didn't have to say a word but when the Daily tracked him down he gave a reasonable, well-spoken explanation of what he did, why he did it, and the background that led up to it. Probably knowing full well there would be idiots on message boards calling him everything in the book for doing it.

If what has been reported so far is accurate, neither Matt White nor the Ames PD did anything wrong. If BDJ is so difficult that after repeated warnings and hours from a big game he can't use common sense and be a better neighbor, he deserves whatever he gets (which is going to be what, a one game suspension at most?).

It's a shame he let his teammates down.

BULL ****. Drug house? They made I sound like he was cooking meth or something. You seriously think ARRESTING him is okay???

WOW, He has done nothing to warrant a "long suspension" and definitely not "the boot" while at ISU. That's a bit of an overreaction

Definitely not trolling. The reason I feel that way is the kid has a history of crap following him. I mean, he broke his teammates jaw at USC, then at UNLV, he walked out on his team and had an indefinite suspension put on him. Its not like this was his first run in. Plus, this was not his first run in with Ames police, and it sounds like it was his 5th or 6th run in. After a while, how many chances does he get?

Is it harsh to kick him off the team? Yeah, but at the same time, as I stated earlier, sending a message wouldnt be a bad idea in this situation, given Freds willingness to take kids with checkered pasts.

What was he doing?

Apparently being too loud, defacing property (someone was), having drugs in his apartment (even if just mary j). Sat down with police, Fred, and neighbor and promised to stop but didn't. Some punishment is probably warranted. Just my opinion and like everyone else on here we likely don't know all the facts/circumstances.

Would it be appropriate to post the screen grab I got?

no, it sounded like BDJ had it coming. Some of you guys amaze me with how much you idolize athletes.

Calling the police a dozen times a lot? Definitely, but it sounds like BDJ didn't get the memo or didn't care. If you had the police complain four times to you about noise, you would:

A) Move out and get another place if possible
B) Be quiet and go somewhere else to talk.

You guys wouldn't be happy if you were in that kids' place. You might not be calling the cops all the time but you wouldn't say "Oh, he's an athlete, he can do whatever the **** he wants". Welcome to the real world where it won't work out that way.

Maybe.

He's also a ***** if he can't deal with some noise in college.

A ***** with balls. #MattWhitetheHermaphrodite

If this was a one time or two time occurrence Id agree that he should deal with it. If it was happening every night, which is probably the case if the police felt to have a meeting with neighbors and Fred, then I dont blame the guy at all for doing what he did. You can only deal with so much...

I'd take a guess that at least 5% of our fan base could see an ISU athlete shoot someone in the face and have an excuse within 10 seconds.

I think you underestimate this board. If I was in college and our star bball player lived next to me, I'd probably make him some frozen pizzas and garlic bread. Cant be much louder there than when I lived above Es Tas.
