Can we not turn this into a bunch of idiots shouting "legalize it bro." That's not the issue.

TIL everyone that is pro-legalization is an idiot that uses the term bro. Good insight.

BDJ should know better. He had plenty of opportunities to fix the issue but it sounds like he deserves whatever comes his way. Should it be illegal? No. It's still a law and he willfully broke it. There are consequences when you do that. Like when I think the speeding limit should be 90 on I-80 through Nebraska and get pulled over for a speeding ticket. Really, no one deserves the punishment of driving 75 through Nebraska. But I willfully broke the law and therefore deserve whatever consequences may come.

Never said "legalize it bro".

The issue here is clearly the shoddy quality of apartments in Ames. Any decent multi-resident structure would have good enough STC ratings on partitions, floors. and ceilings where loud music wouldn't be able to penetrate into adjacent tenants rooms.

In effort to remain positive:

1. We have guys like Thomas and Nader capable of stepping up.
2. Even a loss against Iowa doesn't ruin any goals for the season.
3. If there is a suspension, hopefully it's BDJ's final wakeup call for not only the team but in his personal life.
4. We have Niang, they don't.
5. Hogue is prime for a breakout game.

I think Fred should announce that Bryce will play Friday while their internal investigation continues and then suspend him Saturday until the South Carolina game.

I do like the hok trolls on twitter talking about how ISU is a rogue program. Jok got arrested twice and never got suspended.

If you haven't noticed I get wrapped up in the Iowa/ISU thing quite often...this is one instance I don't care about it at all. Moving forward with or without him is much bigger than one game and I want as many transfers to ISU as possible regardless what Hawk fans say.

If you were the neighbor who has to work at 6 in the morning and the aholes next door haven't learned their lesson after being reported 5 different times then you'd probably feel differently.

Or if you were the cops who had continually given him warnings that he kept ignoring then you may feel differently as well. Sooner or later they have to do their job. Good lord.

I agree... I mean you can't keep letting things slide with out punishment... I mean its like if your a team in the Eastern part of the state whose starting Senior PG is arrested for Public Intoxication and you don't suspend him for a game what kind of message would that send to the younger guys right?

Dear Fred,

I won't love you any less if BDJ starts tomorrow.

With all my heart,
NATEizKING

the thing is...if you ask the question "What would Fran do?" WWFD...the answer is start BDJ with a zero game suspension.

Do we really want Fred handling things like Mad Fran?

What?

On a different note, I'm not going to bag the Ames PD for this. BDJ was an idiot about it and had been previously. They'd bent over backwards, and something had to be done on their end.

That still doesn't mean his conduct warrants suspension.

We beat North Carolina without Georges Niang in the freaking NCAA tourney, we will be fine. Someone will step up, they always do.

What? You? No way. :jimlad:

It is just marijuana. Purely a social construct goes along with it. Some old people think what he has done is horrible. The rest of us think what is the big deal.

He wasn't hurting anyone. This arrest is far more tame compared to an OWI. Jok could of hit and killed someone driving while drunk.

Anyway it is just Marijuana. Two states away it is completely legal. Iowa needs to get with the times. We are liberal enough to allow gay marriage., which goes against everything biology and the building blocks of civilizations. Yet a stupid harmless natural plant can destroy peoples lives because of the prison industrial complex.

I have a feeling his moped would lose the fight in the event of an accident.

Look on the bright side. At least he won't miss any tough games. I don't care what people think. Iowa is a bad basketball team. If Aaron White is your so called best player, you don't have a good basketball team.

In all reality, is there even a chance for him to play tomorrow? Like if ISU were to decide that he could play, what is the likelihood of him even bring released and ready by then?
