I have 4 kids, ages 12, 10, 4, and 2. That's 28 combined years. Yesterday was the first time any of them have had any sort of injury that required going to the hospital. No broken bones, stitches, nothing. Yesterday my 12 year old daughter broke her collar bone playing soccer.

When I was a kid, I was in the hospital every other week getting stitches it seems. What are other parent's experiences? Are mine typical or have I just been extremely lucky?

Both of my oldest got stitches, both at grandma's house, both over an eye. One tripped on a step, one on a rug, one was 4, the other 2. I think kids tend to not get this stuff as much anymore because they aren't playing outside all day like we used to. Mine have had minor sports injuries, nothing broken.

I agree with this.

My older daughter tore one acl and ruptured the other one playing softball in college, my younger one has broken her leg and broken a wrist, so welcome to the world of active kids.
