Can any of the hawk fans that are hiding out around here explain why Hawks are obsessed with seeing Rhoads get fired?

A) This would mean people would admit they are Hawkeyes
B) The poster wouldn't want to see CPR get fired, just "other" Hawekeyes
Seeing Rhoads get fired is just the culmination of what they REALLY want. And that is to see the ISU program continue to struggle. They can provide us their "outsiders perspective" all they want, but the truth is they just want to see us fail. Pretty simple.
Then they are stupid. Well - either way they are stupid - but its like this,
I hated Alford but LOVED having him at EIU. You knew that they would never be anything other than a first round tourney team and we would own them. Last think hokeye should want is us to get rid of a coaching staff that strives for 6-6.
I am a Hawk fan and I would only want to see Rhoads gone if it meant ISU would become competitive. I'd like to see ISU do well and go to a bowl game every year as I want the same for the Hawks.

I don't think any would want him fired. It's like us with Fran. We love to see him fail. We love to see his antics vs refs, his players, and play-in game terminology. However I don't think anyone here wants him fired. As long as he's there, Iowa will be #2 and provide many laughs at them throughout the years. It's that that different than their view of Rhoads.
Yeah its kinda like that other than Fran’s team being ranked all year and Paul going 0-12.

This is pretty true. After listening to ISU fans from about 2011 (whenever the first staged proud speech happened) to last year, I'm sure there is a large number of Hawk fans that are very happy to see him fail and ISU fans to realize that he isn't a good coach. You have to remember that a couple years ago ISU was set to take over as the dominant football team in the state according to posters here, hell, one guy made graphs with trend lines and everything showing how it was happening. ISU fans were foaming at the mouth to take over with Rhoads at the helm. He was bringing in better and better recruiting classes according to the fans (although the statistics showed differently).
Personally, I am pretty indifferent. I think ISU would have been much better the McCarney coaching, and now I don't know who they would bring in that wouldn't leave at the first hint of moderate success. I really just feel for my ISU friends and family who you can just tell are bummed out about the whole deal.
