ISU vs. Hampton...Top 10 Tourny upsets

That was the second darkest day in cyclone history.... I am only counting on the field issues, not deaths etc.

Is anyone surprised? We should have a poll to see if anyone is surprised

Man I hate reliving this every year...

Hey, being a cyclone fan you have to take the good with the bad. Just because it was one of the darkest days in my life doesn't mean it can't be talked about.

Man, I love opening that wound every March and carefully pouring salt in it.

Feel the burn.

And every year we get to hear about the interception in the endzone to lose to mizzou and miss out on going to the big12 championship game (btw, my #1 infamous moment in cyclone history)

ya but whats sad.. is it seems like everyone talks about the bad more then good.. not just here but everywhere.. it really kinda ticks me off

man, my top bad moments in cyclone history are
1 losing to hampton
2 missing the fg to win the game against mizzou to make the big 12 championship
3 seneca getting screwed on that call against florida state, he wasnt out of bounds, he hit the inside of the pylon
4 losing to kansas to not make the big 12 championship again!!!!!!!!
5 losing to kansas in football any time is just terrible

Mine is the rob-job in Auburn Hills.

We could have been National Champs that year.

WOULD have been. Shirley unable to have space to come down on the shot was a foul. Instead the horrible double foul, wave off the basket and give Michigan State the ball. Worst call in Iowa State history. The refs huddled together with their collective thumbs up their (you know what) not knowing what to call is a scene I'll always remember.

Freshman year watching in Wilson hall. A where were you moment in ISU lore.

I still curse at the last 60-seconds. We get a steal, and with a 1-pt lead, Tinsley tries to get a break away layup. When the defense catches up to him, instead of pulling up and dribbling out the clock, or let them foul him, he's throws up a 10-footer and misses!

Also, go back and look at the Michigan St game. We were down by 3 with 1:01 remaining, and what does Fizer do right in front of our bench? He launches a 3-pointer!!! WTF. So much for Larry saying he never calls TOs in the wanning seconds because his players know what they're doing.
