Two best things I see about this from his videos:

- Innate ability to move to space without the ball
- Very good looking free throw stroke.

It would classic if our guards continue to shoot in the 60% from FT line and our 7'1" monster was in the 80%+. Hopefully all the guys will spend some time on FT this summer. I can't imagine how much the poor FT shooting must frustrate Fred.

I don't know if you guys all will remember this being it was 7 years ago now, but a remember Yi Jianlian. That dude got drafted for being able to post up a chair. (can't find the video anywhere, Chinese authorities must have ripped it out of the interwebs).

So at least this kid and move up and down the court with actual bodies.

I'd forgotten about that. Hilarious.

Based on the videos, he projects to never, ever, miss a free throw at Iowa State.

On a serious side, I am also impressed with his basketball IQ / court awareness.

I think he looks like he has great potential. Anyone that tall takes some time to develop but can really have a big impact once they get there.

Is it too early to update the scholarship chart?

What struck me, after watching both profile videos, is that in the second one, he seemed much more confident in his moves. I'd say "stronger", but that really doesn't take much.

Agree. It's night and day between scouting video 1 and scouting video 2. In the second video he's just more confident, smoother, and he seems a little bit bigger and stronger maybe too.

As I said before, I will be excited about this kid as soon as I see him in a Cyclone uniform. Always seems like about a 50-50 proposition at best that these European players ever set foot on campus.

My honest opinion is that the kid likely won't be much of a contributor. However he has a lot of time to prove me wrong. I just think he is so slight and I doubt we get 4 years out of him since he will likely have pro opportunities overseas.

You don't think a guy that works hard that will eventually grow into his body, and that is 7'1 doesn't have pro opportunities in the US?

I know we all hate the Woodbury comparisons but Adam was listed at 7 foot and 230 pounds which is roughly equivalent to what Giorgios is and Woodbury put up almost five points and five rebounds in 2013. I think we can get solid minutes from him even as a true freshman. At least until McKay comes back. I agree that I bet he's not here for 4 years.

Of course they do, I just don't see it as likely to happen here. Nothing against the kid or the staff.

Who does he play over in the next two years considering his build and experience? I just don't think we'll see a 7'1" kid with pro opportunities stay here for three or four years and play about 15 mpg.
