Nader arrested for OWI?

I'm more talking about the people who are already panicking about Nader getting kicked off the team without any indication of how the staff is going to handle this. Also, not all OWI's are created equal. What was his BAC? Was he driving recklessly? What was the scenario that led to him getting pulled over? Still lots of gaps to start jumping toward conclusions about punishment IMO.

I get people like to staunchly and blindly defend players/coaches in any situation but just stop. The guy got busted for drunk driving, I don't care about the details...it was a stupid move.

Disappointing, but if Nader has no other history of problems than I wouldn't be surprised if this just becomes a suspension of a few games.

A lose a lot of respect for someone when they drive under the influence, caught or not. It's a blatant disrespect for the lives of innocent people. Does anyone here NOT know of a resulting death that hits close to home? Two of my closest friends lost a father and a grandfather and my coworker was struck and killed while walking across the street. And that's just from the past 5 years.

Yet there's still a prevalent cultural attitude of "eh, lots of people do it, young people make mistakes, no harm no foul." Even in this thread. I think when you're under 21, you lose the benefit of the doubt that .08 doesn't affect you--which is his best case scenario here. If the cops pull you over because of the way you're driving, and not for a broken taillight or something else dumb, you shouldn't have been on the road.

He's 20, so IIRC that means he could have blown .02 and been arrested due to zero tolerance laws. So was he .02, .05, or .2? Did he have 1 drink or 20? There's a lot we still don't know unless I'm missing part of the story.

I'm pretty sure the legal limit for being under 21 is .02

.02 is practically nothing though, so it might as well be zero tolerance

He must be covered in mayonnaise, then wrapped in bacon, then fed to Mangino. We MUST make an example of these student-athletes who keep getting in trouble.

I think Railey got an OWI when he was here and was suspended for a game or two. I would expect the same punishment for Nader

To get an OWI, you have to blow .08, regardless of age. If you are under 21, and you blow over .02, you get a zero tolerance. Zero tolerance is not even a criminal charge, it means you just get your license taken away for a few months.

Hard to respect someone doing something this stupid.

Then you probably don't respect a lot of people. I'm sure a lot of people have driven when they were over .08 and didn't get caught. Doesn't make it right but it's still pretty common
