Potential Transfers '14

3 to give in April makes the off-season so much more interesting.

Transfer recruiting is really fun because there is immediate gratification. It lasts 6 weeks and generally these guys only take 1-2 visits. They're usually not as focused on the distant history and more focused on what their role will be in their remaining year or two

Kind of funny that Washington (TJ Otzelberger) also contacted him

Yeah, how does that go down if you have to recruit against ISU...can you bad-mouth them and have ANY credibility since they were your former employer? "Yeah, I used to work with those guys in Ames, but I got tired of winning and wanted a challenge."

I love TJ, but that can't be a fun spot to be in as a recruiter.

Iowa State reached out to BC transfer Ryan Anderson. He needs shoulder surgery and will be out 4-6 months.

Sweet. I'd love to have this kid. Who cares if he has to sit out a year and only has one year to play. Shoot, we've got 3 scholarships to use and likely won't find 3 people we want to use them. Plus, we've already got a solid team next year, so adding this guy secures our future in the following year, adds a solid contributer to the practice squad, but doesn't add another mouth to feed for next season. Seems like a win/win in all facets.

I don't think TJ would negatively recruit against ISU.

I agree, and on the flip side, I also don't see CFH negatively recruiting against TJ either. Both of those guys are class individuals. I miss TJ here and wish him all the best.

Not to derail the thread, but as soon as UW-Milwaukee can get out of Jeter's contract, I hope TJ can get that job. He would kill it there.

Just the way the game is played...I'm with you, I don't think he'd go there but man I wouldn't want to be in his shoes.

I think there is less negative recruiting than people think. You don't want recruits thinking you are a ****. They can sniff that out better than people think IMO.

And especially between someone who has worked with Fred or TJ. Two of the nicest guys there could be.

I honestly can't even keep up with the Transfer List. Two names I just heard: Arizona State's Brandon Kearney, Wichita State's Derail Green.

WOW. It's like you have a crystal ball or something. That's pretty awesome right there, Swarthmore ;-)

BC transfer Ryan Anderson told ESPN he's looking at Washington, SD State, Arizona, New Mexico, Iowa State and Indiana. Still open to others.

Ryan Anderson is good.

It's pretty easy to badmouth a former employer.
