Hubby says he can still play in that. All he has to do is stand under the basket & glare at people, right? ;)

Ugh...I was holding out hope it was just a sick joke.

Must be pretty bad if he's having surgery. From what I've read, these can heal on their own. I'm assuming this means he'l be getting some screws put in.

I'm praying it is an elaborate hoax and in miraculous fashion Baylor docs down in Texas find the X-ray is incorrect and it is only a sore foot. This was all to force faux tan Roy to scheme wrong.

I know it is never going to happen...it was on that show coach one time.

Can't find the clip, but this is the episode, I believe: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0543632/

No screws for a fracture at that part of the foot.
The articles I read suggested that they often do surgery for athletes in order to offer faster healing. That seems a little bit odd at this stage of the season, but I'm guessing that it's all about getting Georges ready quickly for his offseason.

He is having one screw put in. Since its on the outside of his foot, they have to put a screw in there just so he can support limited weight on it while it heals. Its still amazing he played as long as he did after the break. Adrenaline will do some crazy things.

Should we expect a 100% recovery by next season, with no long-term negative effects?

With surgery I expect a complete recovery by next weekend. :jimlad:

Seriously though, I would assume as long as the surgery goes as expected and Niang takes it easy for a few weeks, a complete recovery with no lingering side effects should be expected.

I've been bummed all day, it almost feels like we lost...

Im with ya. At the conclusion of the game last night, I was nearly locking ISU into the Elite 8. Now I just don't know. Looking forward to the game tomorrow, because its going to be a different look from ISU. Just hoping it looks good!

As long as the bone heals properly, Niang will be OK.

Luckily for him, and semi us, it happened near the end of a season and not at the beginning or middle where he would lose a lot of playing time and what not. Barring any major complications, he should be fine I think.
