Getting Snipped. Post Op Advice

Ease back into things. You may feel better a few days later but don't go lifting a lot and over doing it. From talking to others the amount of pain you will have depends on the Doctor that does it and the procedure he uses.

Two extremes, ones that dont have issues and ones that do. I did. Got infection, was running a 104 degree fever for 2 days even on medication. Lots of pain. And the numbing for the procedure, whelp have fun.
Did you swell up?

Postpone until March madness

This!! Make sure you have some good TV or Netflix to watch.

You'll be fine driving home. They just give you a local down in that area.
Just use the Ice pack they give you there and prepare to do a lot of sitting.

make your appt now for March Maddness..............I tried to do that last february and they were booked through April.

Figure out where you'll be sitting for the next day or two (outside of sleeping). Set up everything you need ahead of time, laptop, power cord, cell phone power cord, blanket pillow, remotes. Have it all within easy reach.

Unless the Dr messes up you'll have no issues taking a whizz.

Do shave prior, unless you'll have a cute nurse who will make getting shaved by a $.29 razor a moot point. Mine was very gentle and had a nice cradling technique.

Oh do not solely rely on the "75 times" or "60 - 90 days" to start going au natural with the wife again. Wait till your sample comes back and shows a "zero count".

I tried to best the 75 times in 60 days....nope...still had plenty of swimmers at first test. This totally explained how it only took one attempt for each kid I have....but not how I made it thru college. :wideeyed:

Ice bag and back to work I went. I kinda wished the gal nurse that shaved me would have been better looking, but that may have caused another issue. :wideeyed:

I would really advise you to not drive home. Medicine notwithstanding, you won't believe how painful it will be to sit in the driver's seat and move your right foot/leg to use the pedals.

Also, take the advice of not going 'natural' until your follow up appointment confirms a zero count. I had to get it done again. I get the feeling it's not quite as rare as they say it is.

Finally, the bag of frozen peas works really well - get a few bags.

I did mine on a Monday and I was feeling good on Wednesday. I took the whole week off to take it easy. I compare the little discomfort I had was like someone was squeezing my goods pretty tightly.

A couple of numbing shots was the worst pain but other than that, it felt like a lot of pressure and pulling going on down there.

I just drove myself home a few months ago...no big deal at all. My doc gave me the choice...valium and needing a driver, or local anesthetic and drive myself.

I know it sounds like such horror from the stories on here...either I had a good doctor/got lucky, or there's a bunch of pansies on here...that being said, DO take it easy, and yeah, bags of frozen peas. I had two I would rotate in and out of the freezer the first day, the second day I drove myself to get another jock strap. On the flip side, I have a co-worker who went snowmobiling the day after and he still has problems.

Speaking of zero count, I had my follow up/sample check on new year's eve (bring in the new year right, eh?)...ONE F'ING SWIMMER...ONE!!!! Now hoping for a clear title for valentine's day. I'm starting to suspect my good looking urologist just wanted to see me again....

Mine was nothing compared to my hernia surgery.

Get the frozen bag of favorite veg..

Sit on the couch.

My wife added a nice touch. She gave me a little bell to ring if I needed anything for the weekend.

Might actually go through with it this spring. Your urologist in the IC area, 00clone? Who is it?

I just got mine done last monday. The boys looked like the ones on the dog in Van Wilder the day after. The first day I was pretty sore after that it hurt to get in and out of a chair until Saturday or so. Right now it's a little itchy where the stiches were but other than that things are good. Like somebody else said get your spot prepped before hand and plan on a couple days of binge netflix.

Mine was in her 20s and luckily not in her 50s. I took that as a small win for the day.
