Ehh....we'd have to play that in Hawaii or something to prevent the hawk faithful from surrounding hilton with the wailing, and the crying, and the gnashing of teeth about how the best team isn't even in the house.
I hope this isn't a "flash in the pan" thing for us- hopefully we stay here and only strengthen our position in all of the polls.
If ISU can find a way to sweep the 2 games this week against Baylor at home and Oklahoma on the road I think the Clones very well could crash the Top 5 party in the rankings heading into the Big Monday showdown with those pukes from Lawrence.
The only thing that could really hurt our RPI now is a bad loss. Good losses don't hurt RPI that much.
This is a very good point...bad losses are almost a thing of the past since we are in conf. play...Maybe a bad loss now would be at TCU, or something like that? Are there any more potential bad losses on our schedule? Us fans will see any home loss as a bad loss.
Maybe a road loss at UWV?
Agreed. We will learn a lot more about this team in the next 3 games than we have all season so far. And, rankings should reflect that come 01/20.
Actually the quality of wins/losses doesn't matter at all in the rpi. It's all based on records, so losing to KU and losing to TCU count as one in the loss column (not taking into account home/road weighting). The overall record of the opponent is what matters the most, so playing good opponent, win or lose, RPI goes up, and vice versa for a bad opponent.
A win at home over a Top 10 Baylor team and a road win in Norman would give ISU a nice bump in the rankings. It certainly isn't crazy if they take care of business and get a little help. Ohio State and Michigan State play each other this week so there is a team ahead of ISU in the rankings that will lose for sure this week. ISU is sitting at #9 currently and Baylor is #7.
Have to admit the more we win, the more I want to win. Makes this fan crazy, kinda. Baylor, at OU, KU...next 3 games. Boy, to think I was hoping for good fortunes in Hawaii. That's nothing compared to these next 3. Someone send me that "sit back, relax, and enjoy" medicine, will ya??? Would have been nicer to be born with a more music and arts interest, always less stressful as you just smile and enjoy the show. lol
