I had a convo with Todd Blythe yesterday when he got back (from training), He is running a 4.4 and expects to be a decent pick. will be interesting to see how our three boys fair, they have all been working extremly hard.
If no NFL for Blythe, Law School

I'd certainly love to see him drafted, I just think he has an outside shot at being picked up. If anything 6th/7th round. If he came in the first 3 rounds - I'd be shocked and very happy for him.

That's pretty impressive speed. I never thought he looked that quick. Maybe his size makes him look deceptively slow. Best of luck to him. I really enjoyed watching him for 4 years.

Also, if he somehow doesnt make out in the NFL, he is going law school. Which i thought was interesting

Yeah, you guys are right, second round is wishful thinking from me. I really think he could be an Ed McCaffrey type receiver, tall and tough with good hands and good straight ahead speed but not necessarily overly quick with cutting and route running.

If scouts take any stock into that run, he will be a 1st day pick. 6'5" and runs a 4.4?!?! i don't think he's THAT fast, but he's good enough.

I shouldnt have said combine, He is running 4.4 in training. he just came back from training in New Jersey.

I love Todd, don't get me wrong.

But IMO, I think he needs to get a lot tougher to be even close to McCaffrey.

And I hope Todd reads this and proves me wrong. And does it while playing with a star on his helmet. :)

Blythe has been training in New Jersey, Ace is in Houston, and i think Tuba is also in Houston, i dont know why New Jersey and Houston, but thats where they are.

Any indication of the 2nd decimal place? A 4.40 probably puts him in the top third of combine WR's for speed. A 4.49 would be in the bottom third. Height at 6'5" helps offset any potential speed concerns.

2007 NFL Combine Results

Looking at NFL Draft Countdown, they have him listed as the #33 receiver, but get this, with a 4.7 40 time.

If he runs a 4.4 at the Combine, I think he has a legit shot at being an early-second day pick.

(Remember, they changed the format so the first "day" is Rounds 1-2.)

4.47 is what he ran the last time out, says he has two weeks to perfect his start.

4.47 and 6'5 210 215 is pretty damn good

If Todd can run a 4.4, it would be pretty hard to let a man with that speed, size and ability drop to the lower rounds. Would be a great pick up for my Pack.
