Wow. I'm actually extremely disappointed.
a) The white numbers ruin the whole uniform (I understand the rule- still sux)
b) The throwbacks should be worn against Texas so that Jack's story gets NATIONAL exposure. No one outside of the state cares about this rivalry.

If Iowa came up with some Kinnick era throwbacks what would people think of both teams wearing throwbacks for this game every year? Skip the road versions and both teams wear their home version every year. Since we have both stadiums named after a former player (how many of those are there?) it would give the game a little uniqueness and maybe more exposure.

Easily. I think 500-1000 is really reasonable depending on whose uniform you get.

I would love to get my hands on Woody's game worn jersey, but I have a feeling that'll be a popular one.
Small numbers have been against the rules since at least 2000, if not before.
The only part of that rule that changed for 2013 pertains to the color of the numbers and their contrast to the rest of the jersey.
So, have teams petitioned and gotten waivers for special games like this? If so, then maybe we should try?
They probably tried when they started this process and the NCAA said they would get back to them in August...of 2015.
