Official 2014 Recruiting thread

Some mentioned it when Tommy Mister committed to the good guys, but it seems like we are building quite the little recruting war this year with Mich. State.

Rivals has an new article about Jauan Wesley stating that MSU is high on his list, but has been tweeting about ISU a lot lately. I'd be shocked if he picks anyone else.

Micquell Cotton also has an offer from MSU and has us high on his list, as well.

The Big 10 is yesterday's news. Cotton and Wesley would make 3 kids out of Illinois in this class. I'm not sure when that happened last.

MSU, ND, Minn., Mizzou, and Indy have all been some of the reoccurring names (including a lot of the TX schools, maybe some smaller name FL schools) this year when it has come to the schools that we have been battling against for recruits. So far we have faired well so far against all of them, (losing Elmore to Minn was hard and unexpected, it would be a amazing if we got Jones). I would agree though, MSU is probably our #1 competitor so far this year and we have done well!

A little ahead of ourselves. At this point, we have 4 commitments that had ANY other BCS offers. 1 of them had a Michigan State offer. Not sure we're exactly dominating them.

I like the way this class is shaping up as well as anyone, but it looks like a typical ISU class and add Lazard. A lot of under-the-radar guys that, if CPR likes, I like. And then the jewel that will put it ahead of other classes. We are currently 49th by Rivals' rankings. Take Lazard out, that drops to 64, which is where we finish just about every year. Hopefully, having Lazard in the class influences guys to make the call to the good guys. Seems like Mister is an example of this.

Anybody know how we're doing with Andrew Stelter, the DE from Minnesota?
