Yup, every single bubble team has significant flaws. If you look up and down the list of 12-15 teams, every one of them has issues. Some have no top 50 wins, but no bad losses, and tons of wins overall (South Miss). Some have very good wins, while having terrible losses (Villanova). Iowa's OOC SOS was brutal, it's their own fault if they don't get in because of it. Every single bubble team has some tough games left, either on the road, or against top 25 teams, while Iowa gets Nebby. Assuming we win, we can basically sit back and watch those other bubble teams lose their way out.

I wont count Iowa out yet, but they will have to do some serious damage in the big 10 tournament. If they don't get Gesell back, I don't see that happening

At the opposite end of the S-curve, Miami just lost at home to Georgia Tech (RPI 143 I think).

Any hope for 1 seed probably out of question.

That's a 2-seed type team I wouldn't mind facing if ISU could get into a subregion as a 10 ... potential to get steamrolled but also seems to have vulnerabilities.

UCLA loses to Washington State. This probably won't affect them too much as they swept Arizona and have way too many quality wins, but that road loss to a now 3-14 Pac-12 team is still puzzling.

Same with Minnesota losing to Nebraska on the road. The Huskers are improving, and Minnesota is still fine right now, but still surprising.

Miami likely eliminated themselves from contention as a #1 seed with that loss to Georgia Tech at home.

ISU not in the updated last 4 in by Lunardi. Temple, La Salle, Boise State, and Tennessee. ISU is probably an 11 seed when he sends out a new bracket tomorrow.

Temple won a game they should have.

The bubble (15 teams for six spots)

IN (six, in S-curve order):
45. La Salle, 46. Boise State, 47. Iowa State, 50. Temple, 51. Villanova, 52. Tennessee

OUT (nine, in S-curve order):
69. Kentucky, 70. Ole Miss, 71. Maryland, 72. Alabama, 73. Southern Miss, 74. Baylor, 75. Arizona State, 76. Providence, 77. Iowa

guessing Iowa State and Villanova jump LaSalle and Boise St.

did I call it or did I call it?

Returning to seriousness after my joke-post — good call.

Nudging ahead of La Salle and Boise is a good step up — an advantage of getting a team like OSU ... Even if both those teams had beaten a high-end team in their respective conference, it couldn't have provided the same degree of boost.

It's almost to the point where I hope ISU plays well, but doesn't play well enough to get to a 9 seed. Any non play-in game in the 10-13 seed (edit) area would be awesome right now. You're gonna play a toss-up game regardless. Might as well not play a stud team if you win.
