If it's an ACL it's usually about 5 months to heal. If it's ACL/MCL it could be a while. Hoping for his sake it's not the latter.

This. I don't know how many times I've had to explain to people on this board that an ACL injury only takes about 6 months to recover from. If it's more than just the ACL, it's longer.
