Blog from Ubben. I think this is new, sorry if posted prior. Here is the link if you are interested in the comments from posters: How do Big 12 coaches measure nationally? - Big 12 Blog - ESPN

Fanatics, I also, pasted the Blog below: (Note the comment about Paul at the end of the Blog.)

Earlier this week, the Sporting News ranked the Big 12 coaches from top to bottom, but later on, it released its rankings of the nation's coaches from top to bottom.

How'd the Big 12 stack up?

Better than the rest of the competition.

Alabama's Nick Saban topped the list -- argue with that at your own risk and UMass' Charley Molnar brought up the bottom.

Where do the Big 12 boys rank?
No. 5: Bob Stoops, Oklahoma
No. 7: Gary Patterson, TCU
No. 10: Mike Gundy, Oklahoma State
No. 11: Bill Snyder, Kansas State
No. 16: Mack Brown, Texas
No. 40: Charlie Weis, Kansas
No. 41: Art Briles, Baylor
No. 44: Dana Holgorsen, West Virginia
No. 48: Paul Rhoads, Iowa State
No. 50: Tommy Tuberville, Texas Tech

That's everybody well above the top half of the line.

From the Sporting News:
The Big 12 coaches have by far the best average ranking: 27.2, which crushes the second-best SEC’s average ranking of 43.3. Next in line: the Pac-12 (43.8), ACC (45.6) and Big Ten (46.8).
In our top 25 are five coaches apiece from the SEC and Big 12, four apiece from the Big Ten and Pac-12, and two apiece from the ACC and Mountain West.

What do you think?

For me, Stoops is where he needs to be. I might bump Patterson down a few spots, and Snyder up a few, just outside the top five. If someone can explain to me exactly how Weis should be above Briles, I'm all ears.

Briles has built a legitimate program in a place where it looked impossible. Weis' history as a head coach is taking a place where it should be impossible to lose, and eventually declining it until he was fired. Briles should be near the top 25.

I'd definitely move Paul Rhoads up about 10 spots, too. You could probably move Mack Brown down a couple spots, based on the hiccup in Texas' run lately. It's still to early to get a great feel for where Holgorsen should be.

What would you change?

Nice to see some CPR respect.

Don't get the Weis love, he is a great NFL coordinator but hasn't proved much, if anything, as a college head coach.

FreeRentz top-10 money, came in at #33. Iowa fans think if they pay their coaches much higher than market value, they get that craved illusion they're 'elite' in every sport

Big LOL at several of the guys that are ahead of Ferentz on that list. Butch Jones? Steve Sarkisian? JFC.

Mack Brown at #16 seems a little high, but I guess having played for two national championships in the last decade earns a guy a little slack. I don't at all understand Weis at #40. A barely-over .500 record at Notre Dame must take you further than I realized.

This play - featuring the since vacated Reggie Bush - was all that stood in the way of Charlie Weis playing for a national title.

While playing with Ty Willingham's players. I'm sure KU fans selectively forget that part while they ripped Mizzou all year for Frank Haith not winning with his own players.

Weis gets his rep from his Super Bowl rings....nothing more. I get giving all the credit you want for his NFL tenure but as an NCAA coach he did nothing special. Regardless of his success he won't be in Lawrence long.

In his own words - 5 years max:

Charlie Weis Says 'I'm Going To Be Here For Five Years' As Kansas Jayhawks Head Coach - SB Nation Kansas City

“It’s going to be a quick stop. It’s going to be five years. That’s the quick stop. I’m going to be here for five years, because my wife and I had planned for me to be working at Florida for the next five years and then try to be put in a situation where we can walk away. … What we’re going to do here is we’re going to go try to turn this program into a perennial winning program and then try to have it where one of the guys on this coaching staff takes over.â€

I think the only thing keeping CPR out of the top 35 or so is the fact that we still get pounded by some teams. If we can stop getting blown out a couple times a year then Rhoads will move up this list quite a bit.

He should have hired Mangino as his O-Coordinator, it would be like a train wreck, you cant look away from either of those disgusting pigs, but both of them?? Those fat ****s wouldnt look out of place hanging with Jabba on Naboo.

Dude, Jabba lives on Tatooine. Even my 4 year old knows that.

WINDMILL!

Good visual relationship though.
