Big Four Classic Press Release

So close. All they need is a second day with the MVC teams flipping opponents.

I'll settle for anything that stops the rigged games in Cedar Falls. The Iowa/UNI game this year was less of a real sporting event than WWF matches and several ISU/UNI games in Cedar Falls have been as bad, ranging back to when they still sucked.

Better than the previous setup, but not perfect.

*sigh* Des Moines is a good venue for a basketball game, but Wells Fargo is not. They skimped on amenities (tube tvs line the concourse), the seating isn't particularly comfortable and oh yeah...does anybody remember the Creighton game from a few years ago?

I hope, at the very least, that they have installed instant replay. That Creighton game was a disgraceful showing for WF, probably why some schools balked at the idea of doing a home-and-Des Moines with our program (UNC)

How is Iowa hosting? It's in Des Moines at the Well.:skeptical:

They'll call one team the host every year, no idea what that actually implies. They'd be wise to make it as inconspicuous as possible since neutral court games as opposed to only at Carver or Hilton is part of the whole reason for this.

On the Creighton game, there was supposed to be instant reply, but the system failed before the start of the game, and since the game wasn't on TV, there was nothing they could do about it.

Correct. No more UNI or Drake at Hilton.

At least we'll get to see another game against Southwestern North Carolina Polytechnic A&M.
At least they don't have the Ivan Brothers....

So, the press release makes it sound like they know for sure both games are going to be televised. Is that happening via the individual schools television contracts (CTN, Big Ten Network, etc.), or does this event have it's own TV contract?

So, I'm confused, this isn't a round robin? So will we play Iowa later then?

Yes. Iowa State will play Iowa as usual; Drake and UNI will play each other in conference games as usual. Iowa State and Iowa will each only play one of Drake and UNI each year, and each year that game will be at Wells Fargo.

I like the idea personally.

Personally, I'd rather play a round robin, even though we haven't faired well against Drake or UNI lately. So we replace them with a cupcake, or a hard team to whom we may lose to.....I'd rather keep it in the state
