Herman Gone? Some possible replacements

You are incorrect! Do you just throw s#%t out there? Tom Herman is/was well respected, and would have been the OC next year at ISU had he not decided to take double the $$$ from the head coach he GA`d for at Utah.

Wasn't he a GA at Texas not Utah?

Straight from the team.
Team has been told the same thing everyone else has, not surprised you say this at all. But it is incorrect. What happened at tOSU is not related to a contract extension at ISU, except TH went looking.

Thread hijack!

I can't resist, because this is funny.

You are correct. The player that informed me said he was a GA at Utah. I did not even question it. He was told in a meeting that Herman doubled his salary, so going to OSU was a no brainer. He also said CPR was disappointed in Herman leaving.

Makes for a smooth transition and cuts down on hard feelings. Glad it all worked out.

Wait, you mean they did not tell the players, "now you sill have to listen to Coach Herman, but btw, we did not extend his contract due to performance".

Uh-huh. Just like they didn't tell them "By the way, in the press, I'm going to talk extensively about how my criteria for allowing Herman to even talk to OSU was that he remain committed to the bowl game so he could continue to underperform with us in the post-season."

You realize the underperformance theory makes even less sense now than it did when it looked like he was being demoted, right? Then it made zero sense.

Now, it makes an uncertain amount less than that.

P.S. Meyer's playbook and Herman's are nearly identical.

You would be correct. I would guess that TH may have decided it was time to go and get a fresh start with a nice raise, and a chance to work with Meyer. I would also bet that if TH`s offense did not improve significantly next year, he would have been in a bit of hot water.......he probably knew that.

The under performance is obvious ---- no one needs to talk about it. Our scoring is not Big XII worthy. He also has nowhere to go and coach as the old tOSU staff is coaching their bowl game.

Yeah, except it is not a theory....Herman is the best OC since McFarland.

P.S. Exactly my point. Meyer will be calling the plays. The only BCS OC you are going to get for that role are ones that know their future is stagnant at best (and likely to be let go soon).

Right!!!!!

The day that ISU kicks away an offensive coordiantor that than goes to Ohio State and doubles his salary is the day that you stop kissing Gene Chizik's ***.

In other words, it hasn't happened, and will never happen

Listen Barney, you need to get down off your high horse. You have no idea what you are talking about and Sheriff Taylor needs his bullet back.

So, you are suggesting if a OC is good enough for OSU, they are certainly good enough for ISU? If that is the case, any OC for OSU is good enough for ISU should be true, but we know it is not.

Herman asking Meyer what play he wants to run at OSU does not suggest Herman was good enough for ISU- and had any type of job security.

I'm suggesting that ISU doesn't get rid of OC's to have big time schools like Ohio State pick them up and double their salary.....like becca is trying to imply
