Ask yourself this simple question:

"If we don't have an OC who runs the spread, how will we run the spread?"

It's not like the offense is going to run the spread by itself.

Is it becoming clearer?

So because it didn't work in one instance with the Eagles it automatically means it won't work at Iowa State?

Not saying CPR will hire from within, but I would not be totally surprised if he did.

I would rather have an OC from a run based spread format (Kelly, RichRod, Meyer) than a throw based spread format (Leach).

This is a great opportunity to dump the spread and go all I formation.

Agree completely. I would like to see us known as a school with a good running game and I think we have the personnel for it. Also, I think a good running game pairs very will with type of defense we have.

This also might be an opportunity for JP to make another commitment to PR by increasing the budget for an OC hire a little.

Just to calm the one or two people down saying Rhoads won't pick a spread guy, he picked Herman specifically because he was a spread guy. He wants a spread offense.

Yeah, cuz we all found out in the Nebraska vs. Iowa game how exciting that Big 10 style football is.

I would love to see Marty Fine come in and show the big 12 who the boss in town is. I bet he could run a spread if he wanted to. If anyone could, it would be him. I especially don't want our program set back 3-4 years. I'm pretty sure Rhoads isn't that dumb though.
