+1. Glad to hear about a lot of people actually starting to get excited and being able to make the trip. Still trying to find a way to make this work...

As of right now, it looks like 5 of us may rent a mini van and make the 18-hour drive. It's about $800 total (including gas) vs. approximately $4,000 in air fare. I'm guessing it's only about 6 hours longer to drive when factoring in having to arrive at the airport a few hours early, the layover, and finding transportation from the airport to the hotel. Plus, we are in control of our itinerary. Just hope it's decent driving weather.

Just booked my trip. We leave DMS Moines around noon on the 29th and fly into La Guardia around 7. Not the best flight times but a couple flights I was looking at sold out, so I pulled the trigger on the 7 o'clock arrival time.

I've never been to NYC before. This trip is just too good to pass up.

BOOK IT!
booked it weeks ago!!!!

I'm thinking of booking out of Des Moines 12-29 and leaving the 2nd, so far I've found flights for right around $515...still looking at hotel, theres probably 4-6 of us going..at first we were all disappointed but then realized New York City is awesome so were definitely thinking in the process of getting this put together now

Got our general plan all laid out. Driving in a group of 5. NYC on New Years Eve should be awesome!

Same here. Got a group of 7 taking a suburban out east. Here's hoping the weather is decent for driving out there. Those hills in Pennsylvania could get a little dicey! :wideeyed:

Count me in as jealous. Man, I wish I had some family or good friends in New York to stay with and friends that actually wanted to drive out there......don't think I can swing it financially otherwise.

12/29-1/1! Staying at the Warwik hotel on 54th. It looks like an awesome hotel near everything in mid-town Manhatten. Now I have to get tickets to the game, not a season ticket holder because I get free tickets to all home games bc im a football coach. This is the only draw back. I dont want leftover tickets. Does anyone have any ideas?

So you are saying you knew ISU was going to the Pinstripe Bowl after the OSU game and you booked it all then?

This guys knows "things"... trust me. He knew how the whole realignment scenario was going to play out weeks before it ended. It's a little scary to be honest with you.

Minus Mizzou pulling the rug out from under the Big XII.
