this thread is a lot more fun with outside rumors, the in fighting and fake reports while extending the life, not near as entertaining as good juicy rumors from people that get paid to make stuff up

JUST IN: A plane from Texas has landed in Manhattan, KS. My sources inside a local Wendy's informed that Ken Starr went through the drive through at approximately 9:15 PM local time with K State president Kirk Schulz, and Iowa State president Gregory Geoffroy. My sources indicated that Starr ordered a 5 piece nugget and, "No I don't want the damn fries!". Now I've heard rumors that Larry Scott is on a low-carb diet, and could possibly be in Manhattan for this late night rendezvous. "Forgotten Five" to #Pac12???

I heard it was a Long John Silver's.

I agree. Does anyone know the number of votes required to change bylaws? I thought it was always 75%, but thought I read recently it was 100%. Either way, hopefully we could get all schools in agreement.
75% according to B12 by-laws (i.e., 8 members)

Just reflecting on all the statements made in the last year-ish

June 2010: Colorado prez commits to Big 12...one week later- Colorado accepts PAC12 invite

June 2010: A&M prez Loftin, "We are committed to the Big 12 and its success today and into the future."...Aggies reaffirm commitment to Big 12 in June 2011, then backtrack on commitment 2 months later

August 14, 2011: SEC: “The SEC Presidents and Chancellors met today and reaffirmed our satisfaction with the present 12 institutional alignment."...then accepts A&M a couple weeks later

August 2011: Oklahoma reassures the 8 remaining conferences it is committed to the conference...then bascially says they're on their way out Sept 3

August 31, 2011: PAC12: Our sole focus has been on developing the tremendous opportunities we have as a new, 12-team Conference and we have no current plans to expand the Pac-12...yeah right

The last line of the Katz article says it best

"Who can you trust now? It's so unfortunate that it has come to this," said a source with knowledge of the Big 12's situation. "Everyone is working independently. No one is being straight with anyone anymore."

Why doesn't somebody have the power to reprimand our college presidents and administrators for lying through their teeth? Come on Ken Starr...sue them.

Why is all the talk about 16 team super conferences? If I was in charge and had to have super conferences I would go 4 18 team super conferences. Split them up 2 ways. 9 in each division. You play everyone in your division so 8 games and then 4 non conference games or if you have a rivalry in your superconference then you can also play that.

Take each division winner and have Superconference championships. Winner of each goes to a 4 team BCS playoff from there based on BCS rankings. 1v4 2v3. BOOM.

Yep. Even Congress thinks they are being disingenuous.
