Voices from the Stands - UNI ed.

Post some funny/interesting things you heard from the fans (both Cyclone and Panther) from the 20-19 ISU win on Saturday night.

I'll start with this gem...

A UNI fan stands up in the 2nd quarter and screams "THROW A FLAG, THEY CAN'T PLAY THE MUSIC THAT LOUD WHEN WE ARE AT THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE!!"
 
Some one in my section was calling for the coaching staff to "take out 23" on our last defensive stand...????wtf.....???
 
I thought the make him throw it chants were funny since Rennie can't throw
 
Some dude walking down the steps in our aisle with one of those bottomless popcorn containers. The t-shirt shooter shot one off and it landed in the popcorn and spewed it all over the place. The guy started cursing at him and then went got security to try to do something. Security was like "dude, it's a bottomless popcorn what's the big deal". He kept going off, thought he might jump the fence.

Don't know if he got the shirt though.

I had a girl try and pick a fight with me as I walked in because she kept saying that UNI is Division 1 and plays in the same level as ISU. I let her know she was wrong and she flipped out on me and started begging me to hit her. I then let her know she must have gotten plowed watching her favorite team (Iowa) win earlier. She then punched me once and chest bumped me twice. It was intense...

Good thing the Victory Helmet maintained composure because it was obvious she was trying to take that element out of the game.
 
Three middle-aged UNI fans on the northwest hillside that were absolutely drunk out of their minds and didn't know football at all. When it was 13-7 he kept saying "the scoreboard is beautiful but I like the score even more" and after the long td pass it was "it's awfully quiet in jack trice stadium". I was standing on the hill along the fence and one of the guys in the seats said "you know what's funny about that guy? he's 30 and he still lives in his moms basement". When we got called for false start they said we were "offsides"

Was wondering the same thing. Lots of booing followed by chanting something. The fans were all turned around and looking up.

I had a similar misunderstanding Friday night with a UNI fan, only it was with my friend's wife, so it didn't escalate to blows. :-) We were chatting at the Linn-Mar game and she said,"ISU beats us every year and then they suck and we go to the playoffs and they don't. It makes no sense."

I said you understand that UNI plays on a lower level than ISU, right? She just looked at me like, huh?

They were trying to take a fans horn... apparently they have sat in that section for several years and had a horn that they blow... around sec 19 I believe... and the crowd was chanting we want horn... we want horn.... we want horn... and they gave it back... A buddy that sits in that section said they tried to take it last year to.. but gave it back... Im sure someone will know more about the situation...
 
One of the UNI fans in that group on the hill slipped and fell running over to the stands trying to catch a tshirt. He was muddy the rest of the game. It was funny because he was like 30 and a UNI fan trying to get a ISU tshirt.
 
I was sitting in section 17, and the guy with the vuvuzela-like horn was on the edge of 18. Event staff was trying to take the horn. The guy with the horn was kind of belligerent, and suddenly there were 5 security/police men there. The crowd all started booing the security people and chanting "We want the horn!" This was all happening when Shontrelle was down injured late in the first half. By the fourth quarter, the horn was back and the crowd was loving it.
 
After Jantz's first interception, A guy said well I've seen everything I need to see, I just watched ISU season go down the drain.

I love fans that judge everything right away and one bad play.
 
After the game, an ISU fan said "Looks like they have a long drive back to community college."

Going off on a bit of a tangent here; silly of the UNI fans to not know the difference, but that's no sillier than ISU fans who continue to insist that UNI is a Division II team. In fact, there was a poster in the post-game thread last night who claimed that very thing. I intended to call him out on it, but my internet failed me for some reason.

UNI is theoretically as far above Division II talent and resource wise as ISU is theoretically ahead of UNI is.
