BCS Rankings Out - OU #5, KU#4

tOSU is still #1, followed by LSU and Oregon.

Another reason I want to beat KU soooooo bad right now..."Signature Win", anyone?

If We Beat Kansas.. that would be the most awesome payback we have..almost ever had

Re: BCS Rankings Out - OU #5, KU#4

I can't even stomach watching a game on TV in Lawrence because the field gives me flashbacks of that November day in 2005. Wanting to vomit just talking about it.

That would be a fair payback I must say. Ruining an unblemished season. It's much less likely to happen than what happened two years ago though. Hopefully we can at least give them a scare.

Would be great if that game were here instead of there. Would make for some good fun when we pull off the upset.

Don't forget Missouri at #6.

Big 12 isn't getting much love even though they have #4, 5, and 6 in the BCS.

its a beauty contest, and historically kansas and mizzou aren't pretty. texas has the ugliest looking 2 loss season they have probably ever had, so the pollsters aren't to big on them either. ttech and a&m have tailed off and okie state lost to troy. that pretty much sums up why we don't get much love as a whole. oh that and the fact that us and baylor are in it:sad:

Well, I think either Oklahoma, Kansas or Missouri have a damn good shot at the BCS championship game.

The winner of Kansas/Missouri (given that both teams get to there in the same position they are now, which I think is quite likely), will play Oklahoma in the big 12 championship game. If Oklahoma gets to that game with one loss, whoever comes out of the Big 12 championship game will have either 1 or 0 losses, and will have just beaten 2 top 5 teams in a row. If Kansas runs the table, they go undefeated, and there's NO way they don't to the BCS championship after beating Oklahoma and Missouri, both very good teams, in consecutive games.

If Oklahoma wins the Big 12, they are a 1 loss team that just knocked off a top 5 team. LSU has been just barely hanging in there, and they still have a championship game to play. I think it's certainly possible that the Big 12 would get two teams in the BCS at any rate.

If Missouri beats Kansas and Oklahoma, it's a 1 loss team that just knocked off two top 5 teams, and had it's only loss to a ranked Oklahoma, at Norman. I don't see how this is any worse than LSU's record.

Here's hoping that Michigan knocks off Ohio State, because in that case, I think a Big 12 team is almost a lock to go to the NC game.

If KU wins out don't they HAVE to get selected for the BCS championship?

I don't know. I'd love to see a Big XII team in the title game but if you've seen KU's schedule, particularly non-conf, they've played no one. Potential wins over Mizzou and Okla would certainly get them close but I can see a good, if not better argument for LSU or Oregon if they managed to win out.

For entertainment purposes only, here's the remaining schedules of the top 6 in the BCS

Ohio State
11/10 Illinois
11/17 @ Michigan

LSU
11/10 Louisana Tech
11/17 @ Mississippi
11/23 Arkansas
12/1 SEC Championship

Oregon
11/15 @ Arizona
11/25 @ UCLA
12/1 Oregon State

Kansas
11/10 @ Oklahoma State
11/17 Iowa State
11/24 vs Missouri @ Kansas City
12/1 Big XII Championship

Oklahoma
11/10 Baylor
11/17 @ Texas Tech
11/24 Oklahoma State
12/1 Big XII Championship

Missouri
11/10 Texas A&M
11/17 @ Kansas State
11/24 vs Kansas @ Kansas City
12/1 Big XII Championship

They don't HAVE to, but I'd have a hard time believing they wouldn't.

Their non-conference schedule is HORRIBLE, but it's hard to imagine that any BCS conference team would go undefeated and still not have a crack at the NC.

The computers currently have them 4th, even with their horrible schedule. Wins over OK and MO, both top 10 teams, would really help. Plus, their current schedule strength doesn't take into account the Big 12 championship game.

The big question is whether or not the human polls would vote them, since they are the majority of the BCS formula.
