I've been watching Clone Wars with my son and I've come to the conclusion that Obi Wan Kenobi is the greatest Jedi ever. He was Anakin and Luke's master teaching them the ways of the force, He never gave into temptation of the dark side, and he sacrificed himself for the greater good of the rebellion.

Mace Windu was about to take out Sidious, he probably deserves consideration. Although Yoda probably would have taken out both Sidious and whiny boy.

You're all thinking waaaaaaay to hard about this. The greatest Jedi? It's Luke Skywalker. He succeeded where all these other ******* failed. He was the only Jedi in the room when the force was finally brought into balance.

Now, Annikan/Vader can make a case, because he was the "trigger man" who physically destroyed the emperor, but he was a mental midget compared to his off-spring. He was only able pull that deed off because Luke had him firmly entranced with a Jedi mind trick more powerful than Vader could understand.
