As good as this team has played so far i really think down the road some of the guys coming off the bench are going to have to log more minutes.

Phillips- I think that we will be seeing more of him soon. havent seen much as far as a permiter game but i think that he will be able to score around the rim in our up tempo offense. Also seems to play good D

Railey- Doesnt yet seem comfortable when he is on the floor. had a couple of good possessions on both ends tonight. i think he could play a big role in confernce play if other guys get in foul trouble. i think as of right now he is just a big body that can help us on the defensive end in certian situations.

Palo-thought we would see him more tonight but he need him to get in and give the startering guards a breather. Feel like he makes good decisions with the ball although he seems a little reckless going to the tim sometimes.

Mckight- not sure what to think just yet, but he does have the frame to be a good player.

Godfrey = STUD enough said.

Not looking for these guys to dominate the stat sheets, just saying that it would be nice to see them in there to give the starting 5 breathers when needed. although so far it looks like those five could run all night.

We have 9 players who are getting significant minutes. That's more than many years when we've had a full bench!

I really hope Godfrey is hitting the books as hard as he hits the boards.

We need him this year, and in years to come. I'll breathe easier after first semester grades come out...we can't afford to lose anyone.

Godfrey will be an incredible hero here.
He's much smoother than guys with his build usually are. He looks like he can even handle the ball a little bit.

I was impressed with a few of his drives tonight. He can definitely handle the ball, going either direction with either hand. When all the starters had left the game, he became the best scoring option and he recognized it as well.

This isn't really true. Sure they get minutes in a blowout, but in the second half against Creighton we played 6 guys.

I think Phillips will work himself into that mix, but it's going to be a 7 player rotation for the competitive games this year, unless Railey takes some major steps or Bubu is needed for defense.

That's definitely the deal for this year, and I think that's OK, even as an uptempo team.

Healthy I think we're OK.
Palo 10-15 for DG and Jake
DP 10-15 for SC and ME
Godfrey about 20 for ME and JVB
Railey up to 10 or so if JVB or Godfrey get in foul trouble
All 4 of these guys like to play D, they don't have to come in and score
Any extended injury could really hurt us especially up front.

yeah it'll be a 7 man rotation in the competitive games.. DP spelling guards, and Godfrey for bigs.

DP is still hampered by that hand right now.. he's a really good player. strong too. fred said in the postgame show that DP will need to get more minutes soon because he's got such a strong build, he can match up with the bigger guards we're going to start seeing

DP also seems to be a good rebounding guard, like Jake. On the season he has 12 rebounds in 44 minutes. (DG has 15 in 166 minutes).

Its JVB that worries me, in the DM Register he told Hoiberg that he feels old. I'm 44 & he's only 2X... if he has to take a game or two off (or even more) that would really hurt the team. Now he doesnt really play the big (inside) but his height would be missed. We gotta keep him healthy.

Happy Turkey Day Cyclone fans... glad to be on CF

We have a basic 7 man rotation with DP and Godfrey being a very solid top 2 off the bench. Not only can they both fill in, they offer an injection of energy and ability that will make the other starters better. Palo is also fully capable of putting in 10-15 without hurting us on the floor as the 8th guy...and Railey MAY develop enough to give us 10 solid minutes, especially defensively. That's a great rotation in my opinion with enough bench support to keep our guys legs fresh all season long. However, any injury at all to the top 5 and we go from a nice rotation...to a critical shortage of bench support. That top 9, if healthy all year, is a nice rotation...but the odds of avoiding at least one semi-serious injury are pretty darn low. So when that injury comes, we're going to struggle...a lot.
