Streak still alive?

Who cares?

Obviously you did enough to reply:wink:
As I said, technically the streak is done, but I'm putting the Bary Bonds * next to it. Just can't see how leaving starters (risking injury for nothing) against a 3rd string D just to put a streak to an end is classy.

I don't care that we lost one of the games. That game was obviously not on the defense. I think the Iowa defense took pride in the stat, only to have it broke because KF had enough class to not put them back in there as time expired.

But what really makes me upset is now I'm going to have to send all of the "Iowa Defense - preventing ISU touchdowns since 2006" that I had made up to poor kids in Africa because now they're worthless!:realmad:

If it wasn't bush league when O'Keefe and Stanzi were still trying to run up the score by throwing down field well into the 4th quarter with a 35-0 lead (and no, I don't think it's bush league, as it's not their fault that we couldn't stop them, and yes, if Stanzi hadn't overthrown a few of his receivers in the late third and early fourth it could have easily been 56-0), then I hardly think that leaving our stars in after the defense pulled their starters out of the game is bush league either.

First off you won by 28 points. What are you crying about? The only reason Hawk fans are mad about this is because cut into their margin of victory and somehow they feel this is why they dropped a spot in the polls.

How do you make those?

Not trying to get everyone upset or rub salt on any wounds, but I don't see the point of keeping the starters in at all against mostly 3rd string RS Freshman & Sophomores to break a streak. Just wanted to know what you guys were thinking.

I think I will put the streak to an end, but with a *.

In my mind, that's kinda like saying the string of rash behavior from Iowa football players is over just because the major felonies stopped. Granted, there are still the underage possession, speeding tickets, assaulting cab drivers, but really - the streak is over because they are just petty crimes, right?

The touchdown (lack there of) streak is over.

Just wanted to know some of your opinions on the final touchdown of the game.
Personally I thought it was pretty bush league. Starters (with #2 RB) in with a couple of minutes left down 35. I would have liked to hear Rhoads explanation if AA or a lineman went down.

Really? Doubt it.

You might as well just say Iowa State has never ever scored a TD on Iowa.

Get a clue, cool thread.

Wow, get of topic much. Sorry that by asking a question I have hurt your feelings in some way that would cause you to bring up something from 3-4 years ago. If you want to post recent arrest records of Iowa and ISU feel free to in another thread.

Why do you assume Rhoads kept starters in just to end the streak? I'd be shocked if that was his train of thought.

Just curious AmesHawk, how many times did you express outrage over Hayden Fry's bush league act of running up the score on ISU? Or did you explain it away by saying something like, "this isn't pop warner football, if you don't want us to run up the score, then stop us"? Can't have it both ways, bud.

Sorry, humor lost through keyboard.

Nothing was lost because there was no humor there. No one knows what you meant.

If that TD streak was such a huge ******* deal to you guys, maybe you should have thrown the starters back in in the redzone. What? since we are down 35 we should just forfeit everything and are required to put in the reserves? That's the dumbest thing in college and professional sports. You are always supposed to stop yourself if you are winning big and you are suppossed to concede if you are losing big. These are big time sports. There is a lot of money involved. If you get ****** because some leaves their starters in too long and are beat your ***, get better and quit sucking. A team has to do what it feels is in their best interest. If it is pulling starters to preserve health, then fine but don't expect teams to pull starters so peoples feelings aren't hurt this isn't high school where the talent and development is set and there is no choice. SOrry about the rant but that hurt feelsing BS in a billion dollar industry really pisses me off. I loved when Harbaugh hung a bunch on Carroll last year.

it seems the iowa fans are more interested in this streak than the iowa coaches.....

So, 3 years ago in Ames, with UofI down 23-3, O'Keefe / Ferentz were still calling plays and chucking the ball into the endzone from the 40 yards out at the very end of the game as well. Is Ferentz bush-league as well? He is, apparently, just as classy as Rhoads.

I don't get Hawk fans who put any credence in the no TD streak. As stated, you can score no TDs and win...which is way more important than any streak.

I think it was good for CPR to let AA get that monkey off his back.

Side question...when they pulled an AA bio up on the screen it said his nickname is "The Mayor." Do people in Ames/on campus really call him that considering who the original Mayor was/is?

This as the first I heard of this. Its probably a team nickname. I get the logic behind it but theres only one Mayor and thats Hoiberg.

Iowa plays a ranked opponent on the road this week and all their fans can talk about is some stupid touchdown streak. Get a life folks.
