ISU looking into incident that involves Sims

Exactly. The athletic department should be talking to Sims and that is it. let the police do the job and keep your hands out of it as it is a legal matter. Suspend Sims indefinitely and once charges are filed/if charges are filed...address the issue.

Does your head fb coach know about this policy of yours?

Not what I said. I said results impact donations. However, donations impact facilities and other things which impact recruiting which impact results. So, I guess now I said it. Donations impact results. The attitude that you show here by saying donations don't impact results is the exact thing that hurts us. A faction of people believe that there dollars do not matter on a large scope. That faction is large enough that if they were to donate, it would matter.

For the record CPR is a member of the AD. I don't know how I feel about him contacting the victim if it were to happen which I am 99% sure it did not.

It strikes right at the heart of this hok fans argument. Although he probably supported the whole "internal" handling of a huge issue at another UNIVERSITY in the great state of IOWA in which a victim of a crime was talked to by coaches, athletic dept officials, etc.... and was handled internally sparking 2 seperate investigations. Just saying...
CPR would have to knw who the victim was and get her #. Dobt he did it but if he did, it was a bad idea.
I sincerely doubt he did. And as I said earlier - I have mixed feelings on the subject.
However, I also think issues of player discipline in legal matters should be handled OUTSIDE the AD anyway. Can't deny there's a conflict of interest for the coaches and AD staff.

I think the rumor that the coach calling the victim might refer to / be a joke related to the past incident involving Jason Berryman when he broke his former girlfriend's window and one of the coaches asked the girl not to press charges.
The only rumor was the one started here by a troll. Anything said in a hawkeye forum cannot be taken as even a rumor.
I was even more critical of Coach Ferentz a few years as the victim was a student-athlete and would feel as if Coach Ferentz was a superior. He was completely wrong to even be in that meeting, regardless of what was requested of him or what input he had during the meeting.
I don't know if he knows, and doubt that he cares, but there was a discussion about what I posted between an immediate family member of his and an immediate family member of mine.
I respect what Coach Ferentz does as a coach and by and large he has made great choices when faced with tough situations, but in the situation we are discussing I absolutely feel like he made the wrong decision to attend that meeting.
You guys need to get a grip. An unsubstaniated rumor by an anonymous message board poster (who by the way supports the other team) and we have 30-40 posts about whether or not it was right for CPR to contact the vicitim.....which we don't even know that he did.
Reporters use these message boards for leads. Troy Dannen, UNI's athletic director, said last month that of the last 15 calls he had gotten from reporters 14 were to follow up on something they had read on a message board.
By diving head first at the bait Legend12 threw out there you are helping create this as an issue for CPR and the athletic department, even if they have done nothing wrong.
Take a deep breath, consider the source, and back away from the keyboard. IF it comes out that said contact did indeed happen there will be more than enough time to gnash our teeth and grab the pitchforks.
